Well..not really. Alright Bundgie is an indie. developer now. Halo is still exclusive to Microsoft for now. When the rumor first came about it made very little sense. Why would the folks at Bungie want to leave Microsoft? Halo has been such a success with each release. Every other developer would love to be in their position. I now see the bigger picture. While I may sound like a broken record by now, I wrote an article about this whole situation.

Poor box office receipts have been blamed on a number of things (besides a bad movie, that is), including poor weather, natural disasters, embarrassing news for the stars, strong box office competition, etc. This is the first time we have heard a video game blamed for bad box office.

In two pretty unrelated Halo 3 blips, “Chevmeister” over on the Bungie.net forums has posted downloads for all the multiplayer maps sans weapons, power ups, vehicles, etc, just a nice empty sandbox for you to fill (not sure why Forge wasn’t made like this already). Click here and start downloading those right away, awesome job to all the users that helped out with that, this should come standard with Forge and placed as part of the first update that Halo 3 will receive, but for now, at least they made it easy enough for users to share such things (possibly they can share their information with the Unreal Tournament devs).
The second part to these quick blips, Halo 3 madness has invaded even the intelligent people over at MIT, known for their pranks, have transformed a statue of John Harvard into Master Chief with his assault rifle in hand. Discovery Channel is showing a Halo exclusive video as a tie-in with a TV series titled 'Last One Standing' which is set to premiere on the 4th of October.Basically Neill Blomkamp was hired by Microsoft to do a Halo film, but these plans were put on the back-burner, resulting in these live action film shorts. Pretty grisly stuff I am sure you will agree - so most video game fans should love it! Maybe they should cast Chuck Norris as Master Chief.Check out the Halo video here.

While some people have taken to the streets to prepare to get their Halo 3 on, others, have gone back to just playing Halo 2. Such is the case of the great gamer Master Chief, who was originally brought to our attention with the video of him playing the Halo 3 beta through YouTube user DigitalPh33r. He is now back at it again with a new video giving us a day in the life of the Chief as he finds out the beta is over and must resort to popping in Halo 2 again, don’t get jealous of how awesome he is, even taking notes from my own play book on such great moves as killing my teammate in case he took the weapon I want.
It is no secret that Halo has been Microsoft’s savior. Some have speculated that without Halo, there would be no Xbox 360, and that the Xbox would’ve went the way of the Sega Dreamcast. Of course no one can say for sure, but there is no denying that Halo was THE killer-app for the original Xbox; which at launch (and for some time afterward) swam in a sea of mediocre titles.
In 2007, Halo is easily one of the biggest video game franchises of all time. The soon-to-be-released third game in the series, Halo 3, is being marketed as if it was a big-budget summer flick, and Microsoft is expecting sales of Halo 3 to surpass $155 million, which would shatter Spider-Man’s record-opening weekend of $151 million, making video game launches comparable to Hollywood (which isn’t exactly new, Final Fantasy VII made the same comparison).
So with the launch of Halo 3 imminent (release date is September 25th), there is no better time than to review the game that started it all.

Este corto animado está excepcionalmente realizado, con unas impresionantes escenas de acción.
Monty Oum, su creador, extrajo diferentes modelos del juego Halo 2 para crear este corto, además de poner a otros populares personajes de otros videojuegos, como Samus (de Metroid). Así es, veremos una espectacular pelea entre ambos.
Y parece que Monty se graduó, con creces, de la escuela “Matrix” (o 300, para tal caso), pues el uso de slow motion nuevamente ayuda bastante a enfatizar las muy bien coreografeadas escenas de acción. Vean el inicio, solamente, para apreciarlas. Pero la mejor secuencia? la del sword fight, casi al final, definitivamente.
Si pueden ignorar un poco el cliché de ciertas escenas, y simplemente disfrutan este video por lo que es, un fan film, descubrirán que la acción es quizás, más impresionante que algunas películas de acción que cuentan con presupuesto.

Quesada also announced a Halo ongoing, naming Brian Bendis and Alex Maleev as the surprise creative team on the new series.
For those of you who don’t know how cool this really is, let me elaborate: Brian Michael Bendis is one of the fathers of the Ultimate Marvel universe, and Ultimate Spider-Man in particular. In addition to his Ultimate Marvel work, he has also written Eisner Award winning stories for the Daredevil series.
Alex Maleev worked with Bendis on the Daredevil comics, as well as working on issues of the New Avengers, The Crow and will be working on Spider-Woman with the aforementioned Bendis.
So in short, what that means is… it’s gonna freaking rock.
