Mass Effect Sequel Will be "Richer" The release of Mass Effect has seen much praise heaped on BioWare, but the studio has kept mum on the subject of a sequel. That is no more, as BioWare general manager Greg Zeschuk has begun speaking about the sequel, specifically addressing the side-quest system, saying that it will be “richer” than its predecessor which was criticized for being too repetitive. Mass Effect is a Bioware game, action fans be wary because not that much has changed since Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Jade Empire. Mass Effect is definitely an RPG, but it gives action fans something to grab a hold of with a pretty dynamic battle system. If your in anyway into your console RPG’s, you’ed of realized as i have that up to now the Xbox 360 really hasn’t unleashed many jems in the genre. Sure we had Oblivion but outside that the rest were sub-par at best. Blue Dragon, Enchanted Arms, Eternal Sonata, these games all tried to set the bar for future action RPG’s on the 360 and failed misrably. Our last glimmering hope for 2007 was a big budget title by renowned RPG makers Bioware.
Given Bioware’s long running history with superb titles in the genre, most were expecting a solid title from its first dip into the next-gen console market. But in truth we got so much more. Mass Effect is in a word ’spectacular’. Though could you predict anything less from the creators of possibly the greatest console RPG of all time, Knights of the Old Republic?

There has been a lot of internet hype surrounding this game and with its release just around the corner it’s about time you decided whether you are going to pre-order or not…
The above video is 10 minutes long but is also very indepth and what I like best is honest… There are some frame rate, rendering and loading problems with Mass Effect on the 360 but the game still looks great.
The amount of work that has gone into this game is extraordinary and I really hope it lives up to its potential..

So the reviews for the much hyped RPG/Tactical Shooter Mass Effect are starting to rolling in and as of now its averaging a smooth 92 on metacritic, they vary from an aight 80 to an immaculate 100. Most of the mentioned issues deal with minor glitches and bugs that found their way into the game and a few clumsy gameplay sequences but regardless of those technicalities the general consensus is yes. It’s pretty silly for Singapore to ban the game Mass Effect just because it contains some lesbian sex scenes. MDA was obviously only looking at the sexual content of Mass Effect and possibly also did not like the occasional use of the word “bastard” and at least one aggressive use of the word “bitch”. Microsoft, Yahoo! and SCI FI Channel celebrate the upcoming release of the Xbox 360-exclusive action role-playing game Mass Effect, with two weeks of exclusive special programming and events. As the November 20 launch date for Mass Effect for Xbox 360 draws nigh, the threat of an alien rogue force looms ever closer. Yahoo started out by airing this new “distress call” trailer showing the game’s depth of choice with quotes as “Many decisions lie ahead… none of them easy.”
On Tuesday, November 20, the SCI FI Channel will celebrate the launch of “Mass Effect” with the debut of a 30-minute special entitled “Sci vs. Fi: Mass Effect.” Scheduled to air at 11 p.m. Eastern and Pacific, the special will feature more in-depth information about the game, exclusive interviews and exciting behind-the scenes footage.

Well we have good news and bad news, the good news is that BioWare’s RPG games is now complete, but the bad news is we have to wait at least another month before we can get to play this game on our Microsoft Xbox 360.
What this means is that you still have another month to enjoy Halo 3, so you better make the most of it because once Mass Effect is released many gamers will put there Halo 3 campaign on hold. It is such a horrible idea knowing that this game is ready and we can’t get our hands on it.

Because the way Mass Effect was designed, the DLC could not only be just extra weapons and features, but do not rule out more missions, as those could be added to bridge the gaps in storyline between Mass Effect one and the sequel.

BioWare has released Part One of the Character Spotlight videos for their upcoming sci-fi RPG Mass Effect and if this video is any indication then the voice acting in this game is seriously going to rock. The developers talked about Mass Effect having a revolutionary advanced dialogue system and everything that goes with it from the start so it will definitely be interesting to how well they’ve managed to pull that part off.
Mass Effect will be released on in North America on November 20 and in Europe on November 23.

November 20th. That’s the definitive, final, set-in-stone release date for Mass Effect… at last. Microsoft Game Studios and BioWare announced via press release that their upcoming RPG-epic Mass Effect will be released on November 20th.

That’s right, Mass Effect now has a release date. In will be hitting North American store shelves on November 20th, 2007. There were also a few screens of the character customization released. Check them out.

Mass Effect is the upcoming Oblivion-of-Sci-fi games from famed RPG developer Bioware. Massive in size and scope, highly customizable and offering an RPG experience like no other where the game plays more like an action adventure title than a Western RPG ala Elder Scrolls IV, Mass Effect is looking to reshape the western RPG landscape by mixing third-person adventure with shooter mechanics all wrapped up in an extremely in-depth storyline.

It has been a long-standing fact that the internet is, indeed, serious business. This is a perfect example of that. Saturday, Destructoid writer “Orcist” posted his thoughts on the upcoming Bioware RPG Mass Effect. In this post, he states that he believed the presentation was lacking, especially in the “emotionless voice acting and subpar facial animations”, and went on to say that “At worst, Mass Effect is disappointing.”
Naturally, this negative review has sparked mass rioting across all the internet, plaguing message boards everywhere with “zomg estructoid is suxxors!”. However, there is a single voice crying foul in all of this. A single voice of fanboy hope everywhere!

Mass Effect is expected to arrive in our galaxy sometime in November this year. So what can you expect in this Xbox 360 exclusive science-fiction action-RPG?

Mass Effect challenges players to lead a squad of freedom fighters as they struggle against threatening armies to restore peace in the land. Go on, admit it — Mass Effect is going to be freaking awesome. Hell, “Freaking Awesome” somehow seems like some kind of damn understatement. BioWare, if the hype is to be believed, could very well become one of the greatest Role-Playing Games of all time. The sheer size and scope that Mass Effect is set to feature will blow you, me, your mother, MY mother, and everyone else with a general understanding of life away.
So it should surprise no one that BioWare has put the same time and effort into creating a character creation system. Some people at 1UP were lucky enough to get a look at the character creating system for Mass Effect, and it certainly appears that you will be able to meticulously edit your character to your liking — and they’ll actually look human this time, too.

Yesterday, IGN did an interview with Casey Hudson, Producer and Project Director of BioWare. Some pretty interesting questions that shed some light on the depth this game is going to have, here is a quick run down:
Differences in opinion can lead to situations that will challenge your relationships with certain squadmates, possibly leading to life-and-death situations.
Developing skills in Charm and/or Intimidate will bring about different options in conversation.
Your gender choice will affect some plots.
Each squad member will have very well developed backgrounds and story arcs that will grow over the course of the game.
Less turn based, more action (speaking on Jade Empire and Mass Effect)
On top of “the force” and black holes, more powers are available that they have not shown yet.
Squad members are equally customizable as your main character.

The Game Critics Association has announced the winners of it’s 2007 Game Critics Awards, where they handed out awards for the best playable games shown at E3 2007, which was held last month in sunny Santa Monica. Although this year’s expo was downsized, it proved to be a great show regardless simply due to the sheer number of excellent games shown, and they were further along than usual for an E3 showing.
Rock Band, the next music game from Guitar Hero maker’s Harmonix, proved to be the most impressive playable game at E3 07 according to the Game Critics Association, who awarded it with three specific awards. Following that was Bioware’s incredible looking Mass Effect, with two awards.
