In sports it seems to be the rule not the exception. If you want to compete you do what the romans do and turn a blind eye. Sad.There is just so much money in the world of sports. After all the sneaking from the questions everyone made about her possible use of steroids, athletic champion and gold-medal winner Marion Jones finally admitted being on those drugs during her successful performance in 2000 Sidney Olympics.  The Washington Post published the story where apparently Jones wrote a letter to his closest friends and family, admitting the charges on her and announcing she would be pleading guilty to lying to federal agents about it. She was taking the steroids known as “the clear”, produced by BALCO (the ones she once sued for defamation over the declarations that made her guilty of doping), from 1999 to 2001. I was dissapointed when I logged on to Yahoo and saw a photo of Marion jones next to a headline that read Report: Jones Admits Doping. Considering her current husband, baby’s father and trainer have all been associated with steroids at some point or another, I cannot say that I am too suprised. Still, it kind of sucks to have it confirmed, knowing that her awesome performance in the 2000 Olympics can be credited to performance enhancers. I never looked at her as a role model, so the moral aspect of the story wasn’t the part that dissapointed me. I was dissapointed because I used to have a slight crush on Marion Jones.
