      Six sidewalk projects have been started or planned for streets in Marietta. Funding was established by a 1 percent Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST). Here’s a list of the streets and when construction should occur.       Marietta Mercantile Exchange: A New Mixed Use Development Announced For Marietta
      A development group announced, today, that a $100 million mixed use development will be built in Marietta on a 20 acre build site along Powder Springs Street between Garrison Road and Sandtown Road. The development will consist of about 1/3 high end residential housing. Also included, will be a national grocery chain, although which national chain will reside their has not yet been determined. I do not have the exact breakdown of what’s going to be built in the Marietta Mercantile Exchange. So far I have seen announcements for class A office space, high-end residential flats and townhomes and a “neighborhood retail mix”.       In the following press release the Georgia Department of Banking  announced that on March 5, 2007, a Cease and Desist Order issued by them to Derek Gabriel of Marietta, Georgia became final.This Cease and Desist Order was issued to Mr. Gabriel by the Department for misrepresenting or concealing information concerning mortgage transactions, as well as engaging in a course of business not in good faith; failing to account for loan files; transacting business with a person who is unlicensed and unregistered, not exempt from licensing and registration requirements and who is not an employee of a mortgage broker or lender; and failing to properly maintain a mortgage loan transaction journal.
