TrueLife has been going through a message series that we have just finished, “The Original March Madness!” It was a great series. As I was thinking through the series, I was thinking what were some key thoughts that have been communicated.

A Miller Brewing Co. marketing campaign that is coinciding with the NCAA men's basketball tournament has been deemed such a success that the Milwaukee beer maker now is contemplating a similar effort for this year's National Football League season.
Miller's "March Hoops" program allows tavern-goers to face off -- using Nintendo Wii controllers -- in a specially designed basketball video game.

If 2008 NCAA tournament scores were determined by the median salary of its graduates, how would Kentucky do?Would the Cats make it to the elite 8? Would they get out of the first round against Marquette? Would it be better to play Vandy, Stanford or Notre Dame? This is how the March Madness brackets would shake out according to PayScale:
I have been wanting to get this post out for a few weeks now but have been bogged with other posts that actually do relate to the overall theme of the blog.Any-who, lets talk some basketball.

Even with the MLB season starting I simply can't bring myself to stray away from March Madness right now. The Sweet 16 starts tonight so be sure to watch. Now Stefan already gave you his Sweet 16 picks here.I'm going to give you my predictions as well as some things that I've seen around the blogosphere before. I'm going to predict games with a coinflip (top seed is heads) and then by fantasy mascot battle. Then when the sweet 16 round is over we can look and see how our predictions stacked up against that of honest Abe and the mascots' blood. Can you believe it is March already? Yeah it is that time of the year again when all time stops and amateur basketball is the most important thing in one’s life.
Unfortunately, for those people in their fourth year of medical school, not only does the NCAA tournament occur in March, but so does match day! [...]
The NCAA Men's Division 1 Basketball tournament kicks off today. The tournament includes 65 teams from across the U.S. and will conclude with the championship game on April 7th in San Antonio, Texas. Good luck with your brackets.
Hey everyone, stephen a back again. I suppose I could be called The Sports Flow's resident college hockey writer, with all of two posts under my belt. Last year I dropped a Frozen Four Preview as well as a prediction on who would win the Hobey Baker Award. I went 1 for 3 on the Frozen picks but I did get the Hobey right so I'll take it. This year my role has been expanded a touch and I'll be taking a general overview of the entire tournament to get everyone ready for the Frozen Four in three weeks. And as always, thanks to everyone at The Sports Flow for putting up with me. Here we go.What: The NCAA hockey tournamentWho: The tournament champions of the six conferences (WCHA, CCHA, Hockey East, ECAC Hockey, Atlantic Hockey and the CHA) plus 10 at large teamsWhere: Albany, NY; Worcester, Mas
This is my NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament Bracket (as of 3/24/2008). I of course had a few upsets, and this definitely isn’t my best bracket by far. My problem is I am so biased towards certain teams and it usually comes back to haunt me…(I usually have Duke and Gonzaga in the lead 8, and [...]
Last week I shared about my crazy idea to do a March Madness lock-in in 2003 - and my even more insane idea to try it again last week as a multi-church parish-wide event. It was AWESOME and I have finally recovered enough to coherently pass along the details so you can try it yourself.

To all the sports fans and the unemployed, sorry about the long layoff, but J Fish Sports is back. And what better time to return then during the best sporting event of the year? So let's jump right into it.
There's been a lot of talk about a majority of people going chalk or close to it in their brackets. I, for one, have three #1 seeds in my Final Four, which is something I try very hard not
Most guys just love this time of year. Ah, March Madness. It actually, in my mind, runs a little bit out in front of football's Bowl Season for college sports, mainly because it seems everyone’s school is involved, and it is the last hurrah before college sports takes a hiatus until football season starts up in August.
Once, about ten years ago, my friend Alan worked at ESPN.com. He secured us tickets to the opening round of March Madness. We saw third seeded UNC lose to Wyoming-based 13th seeded Weber State. Now we live in the Southeast, and how funny, no one I know that attended UNC seems to remember this game. But is was a day of hanging out in an Irish pub, watching basketball, and then hanging out again in an Irish pub. For guys with no kid
A. You just gotta love college. B. You just gotta love the fact that whenever there is any excuse to get completely drunk, inappropriate, or even naked, the youth of America will not run, they will sprint at that chance. Take this fruity bandanna guy here. He doesn’t even realize that he’s holding on to [...]

Selections coming up soon. Still think it'll be North Carolina, Memphis, UCLA and Tennessee as the four #1's but of course if the selection guys watch ESPN then substitute Kansas/Texas for Tennessee.Georgia/Arkansas going on now and Georgia (16-16) is still winning. Auto-bid up for grabs for them (Arkansas is already in) and a bubble for someone will burst if it happens (Oregon?).

Cancel your plans for Saturday night, because the Pitt Panthers are in the Big East Championship game again. Last night's victim: the ---CLANG---Marquette ---CLANG--- Golden---CLANG---Eagles, 68-61. If you didn't watch the game, hopefully my weak attempt at humor assisted you in a description of what happened. Marquette shot 19-61 (31%) from the floor to Pitt's 49%, including a 3-16 showing from Dominic James, 3-10 from Lazar Hayward, and 1-7 from David Cubillan. Pitt, who's suddenly remembered how to play smothering defense again, could've put the game completely out of reach by halftime if they were able to make a few foul shots, as noted by the very entertaining Bobby Knight. Instead, their 13-point halftime lead was whittled down to four at one point, and the game looked like it could'

What really draws ME to this dress is its wonderful pattern. It's very retro and so 60s. I'd probably partner it with a cropped vest or sweater (color TBD), leggins and boots. Or I could even belt it, throw on some large gold hoops and bangles with some killer heels. This dress offers ME so many possibilities. I luv it!Milly A-line dress, $222 (regularly $370), Net-a-Porter.com

I've always had beautiful skin but when I moved to the Bay Area, this windy weather wreaked havoc on my dry completion. For years, I had to layer a minimum of 3 moisturizers to keep my skin hydrated which left ME quite frustrated. Then during one of my frequent visits to Valley Fair, I stumbled upon Origins Plantidote™ Mega-Mushroom Face Serum. This product immediately (I mean within the first 24 hours) took my dry skin from blah to tah-dah! It quickly absorbs into my skin, does its magic and leaves behind a healthy sun-kissed glow. I will admit that I got a severe cause of sticker shock when I first saw the price but this serum is worth its weight in gold. If you a crave a beauty product that can breathe life into your skin then take it from ME, this serum works!Origins Plantidote™ Me
According to Espn.com - Bracketology, currently the Devils are slotted as the 10 seed in the west facing off against BYU. A second round match-up against Kansas awaits them next. March Madness. Summer is approaching, well at least here in the Philippines. A time for me and my family to go the beach, sun bathe, relax and just have a vacation away from the city and stress. I chose this picture, because, flowers blooming is usually a symbol for spring, but since we don't have spring, we usually associate it with summer instead. Anyway, by this time, it's supposed to be hot and sunny here; but, the funny thing is the whole month of February has been rainy up until now. The weather is even colder than usual. It's just the most unusual thing. It never rains in February and March, except for this year; well, at least as far as I can remember. Meteorologists explain that there is a La Nina phenomenon affecting the country; bringing more rain and flash floods expecially in

By: David Johnson If any other TV programming service provider claims to specialize in sports programming, don't you believe it for a second, because DirecTV is the only TV programming service provider that has done the leg work to earn that title. To start with DirecTV has twenty-five premium sports channels that are there for you in their popular Total Choice series of programming packages. The word -Premium- has been getting thrown around far too loosely in TV programming advertising material recently and it is supposed to mean top grade programming that is expensive for the programming service to procure on the open market for their TV viewers. What a lot of TV programming service providers are doing is obtaining grade-B programming and mixing it in with their better sports programming and hoping you won't notice but now you know better. This is why when you surf their sports channels you will see events such as sheep wrestling, three legged dog races and drunk midget tossing conte
It‘s March Madness time again, which means it’s time for Basketball! I love basketball because this game is not boring to watch. It is filled with excitement, slam dunks, and many more actions. March Madness usually takes place mainly during the month of March and the tournament takes place over 3 weeks at sites across the United States, and the national semifinals have become one of the nation's most prominent sporting events.
FLORIDA V. UCLAThis is a big game folks. The Gators are looking to continue an unprecendented strike of B2B2B Male basketball and football championships. The Bruins are looking to restore the legacy that is UCLA Basketball. Here is how the two teams match upDa' Point -UF Taurean Green, At times he seems to lule his defenders and the fans to sleep, but you get him going and it could be lights out. Green silently runs the show for the Gators, if TG is rolling, watch out.UCLA - Darren Collison, Collison had 14 pts against the Jayhawks almost being shutdown by Russell Robinson until he got into foul trouble. Darren leads this group but tends to be a bit inconsistent.Advantage - GATORS - Green is just too smooth, like buttaWe can't believe he's not butter.Shootin' G -UCLA - Arron Afflalo, Probably the best shooting guard in the country. It's Finally Four time, I mean Final Four time! I think for the most part, we all expected UCLA, Florida, Ohio St. and Georgetown to be in it. But, I took the chance on USC. Taking chances on the March Madness bracket like hitting the lottery - if you can pick the upsets, people think your actually smart. I never claimed to be smart...Here's my my bracket as of March 25th:
As March Madness rolls on there's been a lot of great action on both the ice and the hardwood this weekend. And as we speak arguably the greatest month in all of sports is coming to a climax. Let's regroup...Ohio St. and UCLA punched their tickets to the Final Four Saturday. Also Michigan St. and Maine booked theirs to the Frozen Four. A few things really either surprised me or stuck out to me here:I was really surprised that Ohio St. was not only able to win but to really run away with it at the end. I mean, they really made this score look uglyThe talented Jayhawks club being so unable to respond. I picked UCLA to win, but I figured that the Jayhawks wouldn't just die like that. Watch out now...because Bill Self is quickly becoming into that coach with lots of talent who "Can't win the Big-game". Actually thus far he can't even get there...Maine was the first team to punch a ticket to the Frozen Four in St. Louis...This came as a bit of a surprise to me and definitely not in my
Man Eats Basketball For March MadnessTopeka KS: James Stein loves basketball. The team does not matter, just watching basketball is what he lives for. With March Madness, the thrill is just as intense as any major sport finale. To show his devotion, and yes, addiction to basketball, James elected to actually eat a Spalding professional basketball.James Stein lives by himself in a two room apartment. He works part time as a hair sweeper in a barbershop. He purchased his Spalding basketball online through ebay. When it arrived, he prepared for the basketball feast. What is more amazing, James had his mother come and help him cook his meal and also serve as proof that he did eat the basketball. And as we all know, a mother would never lie. James contacted us and we were amazed at the fact that this young man did indeed eat the basketball. We called James for an interview, and here are the facts and process."I knew that eating a basketball would not be easy" stated James. "So I decided to

My tournament tree might as well be chopped down. Put a fork in me, I'm done. Spank my cheeks and light my ass red. However you what to say it, this wasn't a good year for my picks. Below is a screen shot of my tournament tree, as of 3:29 p.m. on Sunday, March 18th:As you can see, there is a lot of red (and that's bad.) But, on the bright side, my Final Four picks are all still alive (and that's good.)I'll upload another screen shot in a couple of days to share how bad I'm doing then...
News: Note-to-Self - If you commence a "preview" once the tourney has started, you only have to discuss half the teams. Not sure if this makes these comments worth anything at all. With that said, we give you the West Region Postview.Possible Incorrect Picks: Most people at least thought that Duke would have made it past VCU. Duke was pretty bad at times this year, but getting out of the 1st round should have been automatic. Many thought Gonzaga would upset Indiana and possibly make a run at UCLA........no sir. Indiana has their work cut out for them too.JJ Redick wrote a poem for the Duke fans in mourning,"This team is not built like the lastMe and Shelly balled like we were prosPaulus and J-Mac balled like pu$$iesHang tight Coach K, you and me BFFStay in college kids, the real world ain't no fun"On Today's Docket: Kansas takes the win running away, Villa and Kentucky tussle, VT fights the Illini, and Southern Illi take on christ and the cross.Villanova Vs. March Madness is finally underway!I created my tournament tree this year on Yahoo's Fantasy Tournament Pick'em 07. Click the screen-shot below to view my picks:I'm doing fairly well so far. Only a few games have been played, but I'm doing better than expected. To my surprise, Duke lost. This was a shock as I had them going to the regional semis. I thought Duke would crush VCU, but this just shows how unpredictable this tournament can be.Also, I took chances on Texas Tech and Gonzaga, both being the outranked teams. They played teams fairly equal to them, but couldn't get the job done. I picked them both to only advance to round 2, but oh well. That's March Madness!
VCU! VCU! VCU! VCU! VCU!My March Madness has been made - Duke is gone in the first round! Richmond's own Virginia Commonwealth University beat the Blue Devils 79-77.Sorry, I am from ACC land, and as Terp fan, you have no idea how much a Duke loss in the NCAA Tourney especially in the first round means. I dislike the Duke Blue Devils more than I do the New York Yankees, Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Lakers (mainly because of Kobe) combined.Bobby Knight lost too, and I hate him, but he adds a whole another element to basketball...If you want some real awesome coverage of March Madness, go to the WBRS Sports Blog with an all day party going on hosted by the illustrious Mini-Me.My beloved Turtles beat Davidson 82-70, but if it was a 35 minute game, my team goes home...

General Motors has decided to bring back 0% and reduced-rate financing on many of its models to save its sales efforts for March. No doubt the General is keen on putting up positive numbers for the month to compliment the other bits of good news that have signaled its turnaround may have turned the corner. The new incentives start today and include 0% financing for 36 months and reduced-rate financing for up to 72 months, in addition to an extra $1,000 rebate that can also be used by the customer.[Source: Autoblog]Continued- ArticleThe vehicles eligible for the new incentives, which will last through April 3rd, include the usual suspects, as well as the new 2007 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra, which is a bit of a surprise. The automaker no doubt senses an opportunity to hit its main rival, the Ford F-150, where it hurts. Considering the current F-150 is now an older model than the new GMT900 trucks from GM, as well as the new Toyota Tundra, its position as King of the Hill in the truck

News: Pre Pro Sports is breaking down the first-round brackets. Here's the top 4 storylines in the South...yearbook style. Most Likely to Succeed:Texas A&M. The Aggies are the most dangerous 3 seed in the tourney since Carmelo Anthony led Syracuse to the national title as a freshman in 2003. The path isn't easy as they will have to get past a Memphis team with only 3 losses in the Sweet 16 and Greg Oden and the Buckeyes in the Elite 8, but Texas A&M has the perfect balance of inside-outside scoring to make a deep tourney run. Most Likely to Get a Home-Cooked Meal:Lousville. Since when does a 6 seed get home court advantage? One of the best matchups of the first round may be negated with Rick Pitino's team playing the first two rounds in Lexington, KY. The Stanford Cardinal have the talent with the 7-foot Lopez twins (pictured on the left) manning the middle, but they have the disadvantage of having to fly across country to play in front of thousands of Louisville faithful. Most Lik

Look for them to show the world they belong in this tounrey. Sorry ND fans, the Irish are going down.#7 UNLV vs. #10 Georgia Tech - GA Tech ended the season on a roll. UNLV seemed to plateau a bit. No, it's not the Tar Heels so just do yourself a favor and erase them from your Final Four. As we told you before, people are underestimating Tyler Hansbrough's mask debacle. They'll be bounced by Texas in the Sweet 16, courtesy of Kevin Durant. Personally, we always hope Bobby Knight advances so we have more opportunities to listen to his words of wisdom (note: don't miss out on this link, but beware at work), but it looks like BC is a safe bet to escape Round 1.Most Likely to Miss Their Star Player:Marquette. On the first day of the NCAA Tournament in the 11th grade I was at home, sitting on my ass in front of the TV. Even if I was healthy that day I wouldn’t have gone to school. It was right before the first tip-off and I was pumped as hell. I had my bracket in one hand, thinking I had the money picks. A bag of Cheetos were in the other hand. Suddenly my phone rang.“Hello.”“Hey Ben, have the games started yet?”“Is that you, PepperoniNip? Aren’t you in school?”“Yeah, I’m just calling from journalism class.”“They have a phone in there? Damn.”I heard a voice in the background. It was my journalism teacher angrily asking PepperoniNip what the fuck he was doing, not in those words. “I’m just talking to Ben about basketball.”“Oh, okay,” my teacher replied.“Yeah, so they started yet?” he asked again.“Nah, but they’re about to.”“I’m going to call back in 30 minutes for score updates, so don’t go anywhere.”It didn’t take me long to realize tha
One of the most anticipated sporting events brings fans together every year to watch the fortunes of 64 teams as they make their way through the NCAA tournament. These same fans apparently also like to consume a whole hellava lot of green fruit. What? Yes. Avocados. Fruit. I personally have never heard of ANY kind of fruit being a staple of gameday food, but alas the California avocado is a number one seed in the food bracket. In fact, according to the California Avocado Commission, so many fans includeavocados in their “starting lineup” of tournament snacks that more than 30 million California avocados, equaling 15 million pounds, will be consumed during tournament festivities. California avocados add a creamy and delicious flavor to a variety of tournament-time dishes. Whether fans are craving the ultimate championship snack– guacamole – or foods such as sandwiches, burgers, pizza or nachos, avocados are a “slam dunk” ingredient. The Jaunt says these statistics must be per

This week the madness begins! The NCAA March Madness college basketball tournament starts this Thursday. The games will not end until Sunday evening. For all the basketball fans and the sports betting fans, this is a must see event! The casino bars and the sports books will be full of cheering fans watching and betting on the games. When the sports books are full of cheering fans it makes for a real exciting time. A little wager on the game also makes it more exciting. This will be a very busy weekend, most of the hotels will be overflowing with guests. Also this weekend is St. Patrick's Day. The day of the green beer, everybody being Irish, and wearing the green clothes! Many of the bars will have the green beer if you indulge that brew. Not many Irish restaurants in the hotels on the strip. But one very nice one is "Nine Fine Irishman' in the New York New York casino area. It has traditional Irish food and drinks and will be having special events all day long

Ok, I’m so totally not a basketball fan. I have no clue about any of it. But I LOVE March! And not because My Birthday comes in March (hint hint, people - get moving here). Spring comes in March. My daffydills that are my birth flower bloom in March in SOME areas of the country (not mine right now though, dammit). The Earth wakes up from it’s sleep and starts to bloom. It’s just a beautiful time of year.
THis year, I turn 40. In 3 more days, I’ll be 40 years old. I have *NO* idea how this happened. Last I knew, I was rollerskating (yes, ROLLERskates, not those godawful inline skates) on the sidewalk with my tape player blasting Michael Jackson and Air Supply. I was sure it was just yesterday or so.Now, how did I get to be 40???
Oh… I know what you’re thinking. She’s finally gone around the bend. But it really does feel like just yesterday. My sister had just been born. She was upstairs, in her playpen (remember those, folks?), an
It's March and that means tournament fever. Well, the weekend hasn't turned out exactly as I planned. Gianni hasn't felt like himself all weekend. Yesterday he barely ate and had the worst meltdowns/temper tantrums ever. So I didn't get much computer time. I was able to get this layout done using a recent freebie template from Scrappin Thomsen's blog.I really like how it turned out. It's G wearing daddy's glasses. He's at the stage where he's starting to pretend. It's really cute.I had intended on working more on the tractor kit I started the other day. (Thanks for all the great feedback, by the way.) I also intended on working on making a bragbook album using Wintry Wonders. I did start it, but somehow I got sidetracked and started a basketball kit instead of finishing my other projects. The Hoops Kit is today's freebie. I figured it's almost March Madness time and lots of moms out there probably have kids' basketball photos to scrap, so I figured I'd give it a whirl. I really like how some of the papers turned out

About this time of year, my brother-in-law in North Carolina calls me from his office. Fuelled by a heady mix of strong coffee, grits and adrenalin, he is frothing at the mouth by the time I get to the phone.
"Time for your picks," he'll say. "I'm all about the Wolfpack. Alabama look good again, but no defence..I hope Duke get railed. What do you think about Boston? They're on fire, but then
First and foremost, I would like to congratulate the George Mason University men's basketball team on it's sensational run to the Final Four. this team has proven a lot of folks wrong, myself included. I didn't even think they were going to beat Michigan State in the first round, but they have seemingly gotten stronger as the tournament has gone on. One thing they've proven is that they are for
John was working in Springfield, Massachusetts at a YMCA training to become an administrator of the YMCA’s program. His challenge was to come up with a game for a gym class that would be physically demanding and could be done inside during the harsh winter months. His solution was to have two teams [...]
OK, everybody... Please note that the title says healthIER. We're not promising low-fat, cholesterol-free chicken wings here.
