This was much harder than I thought it would be. It might have been easier in oils I guess, I can't get used the the unblendability of acrylics. This was a good little exercise though, dealing with the shades of grey, the light coming through the marble into the shadow and the slight hint of blue and yellow in an otherwise monochrome composition.

Marble can create quite a stylish impression where-ever it’s used in your home.
It’s not cheap but, for example, something like a marble statue will be a talking point with your guests for years to come. Likewise, instead of the normal wooden pedestal for a plant, a marble one makes much more of an impression and will last considerably longer too.
It’s a look that shouldn’t be overdone though. A garden full of large marble statues might be just the thing in downtown Athens, it can easily look very tacky in downtown Boston. One, or two are fine but don’t try to create a whole pantheon.
By limiting the number of pieces that you use, the uniqueness of each one will be emphasised that much more. Besides, for most of us the cost of these items will tend to limit the number that we can use.
