Before I go get killed at work this week I wanted to get up a post summarizing my appearance on the Live From Mickey Mantle's show on Friday. It was a great show with some fantastic guests. I had the unenviable task of following Mike Easler
Since today's game has been rained out, how about watching this classic episode of Home Run Derby.Remember Home Run Derby? It was a television show from the late-50's that pitting the top sluggers of Major League Baseball against each other in 9-inning home run contests. It was held at Wrigley Field in Los Angeles. The show was produced and hosted by actor and Hollywood Stars broadcaster Mark Scott. The winner would receive $2,000 and was invited back next week to go up against a new opponent, and the loser received $1,000. If a batter hit three home runs in a row, he would receive a $500 bonus. A fourth home run in a row would be worth another $500 bonus. Any consecutive home runs hit beyond that would each be worth $1,000.I used to love this show as a kid, I always would watch the reruns

In the meantime here is a short drabble for your entertainment. And so I actually can say I wrote something today.

From those ashes, three bands were born - SUSURRUS INANIS, NOTHING and AGALLOCH. The primary goal in the beginning was to create majestic and epic
Katharine Sanderson writes:
The arrangement of electrons in iron-containing minerals deep within Earth influences how those minerals behave, according to new lab results. That could affect our understanding of the composition of rocks deep underground, researchers say.
Jung-Fu Lin at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, California, and his colleagues took some iron-containing minerals known as ferropericlases and subjected them to the brutal high temperatures and pressures of the lower mantle — the layer of the inner Earth lying just above the core, in some places more than 2,000 kilometres beneath the surface.
By studying these minerals in minute detail, the team watched the electronic properties of single atoms change as they are squeezed and heated. This affects large-scale properties of the minerals, such as how fast sound travels through the rock.
Studies of how sound waves travel through the deepest layers of Earth are used to help infer what kind of rock is down there,
