Barry Manilow has canceled his appearance on “The View” because the show refused to bow to his demands that its only conservative, Elizabeth Hasselbeck, not be on the show.Apparently Mr. Manilow finds Hasselbeck's opinions "dangerous." A judge in America has taken an innovative approach to punishing noisy neighbours he's sentencing them to listen to Barry Manilow. Manilow is just one of the artists who Judge Paul Sacco has chosen to inflict upon the people mostly young adults who break the noise laws in the Colorado city of Fort Lupton. Also on the playlist at the mandatory 1 hour listening sessions for offenders are The Carpenters, Dolly Parton and Barney The Purple Dinosaur. Listeners are not permitted to eat, drink, read or sleep during the hour. Barry Manilow is joining the near legion of celebrities with his own wine label.The man who made hits out of "Mandy," "Can't Smile Without You" and "I Write the Songs," is releasing the Manilow wine line with five varietals retailing for between $20 to $25 dollars a bottle.In case you have lost track of the 63-year-old former television commercial jingle writer, Manilow has actually been quite busy lately. He was high in the charts last year with an album of 1950s covers and he has a long running stage show at the Las Vegas Hilton.
