I hope everyone had a great Mother’s Day. We went to church and were transferred in as new members. Then, my dad bought us a gas grill as an early Christmas present, so dh grilled steaks for dinner. Speaking of Union Chapel, I was also supposed to be there tonight, because I'd got one of the magic tickets to see Laura Marling and others performing live. Unfortunately, despite leaving Milan centre at 17:00 to take the fast route back to Linate, it was all in vain because the plane was delayed taking off. The pilot made suggestions that we'd be able to fly really fast knocking some 40 minutes off the advertised time, but as I suspected it was uphill on the way back and we actually arrived around 30 minutes late. By the time we'd got steps to the plane, been bussed around half of Heathrow and then retrieved my car it was around 21:15. It seems Rapper Eminem is a manic depressive. This is per his mother's (Debbie Nelson) tell all book, "My Son Marshall, My Son Eminem", that is expected to hit the U.S. next year. The book is currently available in the UK. Eminem and his mother do not have a good relationship as evident in some of his songs where he raps about his hatred of his mother.

With all the months of planning I have done I wouldn’t have expected this move to affect my time, energy, and money so dramatically and in ways I hadn’t anticipated. With the closing this Friday, my stress is at an all time high in this process. It’s looking like the loan paperwork and the home itself might come down to a photo finish. That is, if it isn’t late.
The home closing process has been surprisingly difficult and we have had to call daily to make sure the items we turned in weeks ago are being located and counted as received. If that isn’t enough to worry about we have our final (yes, FINAL) walk-through with the home builder tomorrow morning and there is still a laundry list of items to be finished including freshly inflicted damage to the tile backsplash. We’re talking golf ball sized holes below the vent hood. Something tells me they won’t be able to fix that by tomorrow morning. *sigh*

No, I’m not talking about some sale in a store somewhere. I’m talking about my house! Manic is certainly what it is with 6 kids running around. My blog name is holding true today! I have been babysitting for a friend for about 4 months and today, because the kids are all out of school, I have her two oldest. I don’t usually have them, since they are also in first grade, but on the occasion that they are off of school, I get all three. So, today I have three boys and three girls in the house, including two sets of twins (yes, her two oldest are twins, as well).
I have a ton of things I’d like to get done today, especially since the landlord is coming on Thursday to inspect our half of the duplex. I’m finding that it’s increasingly difficult to get anything done when the four older ones want to follow me around everywhere. Don’t get me wrong, I love that they are interested. With Thanksgiving a few days away I thought of a great little relish that I like, Cranberry Relish that I found at Simply Recipes and use every Thanksgiving.This is a great cranberry relish for all turkey dishes and turkey sandwiches, and a tasty alternative to a more traditional cranberry sauce.The relish consists of raw cranberries, apples, and an orange, all put through a grinder with sugar added to macerate. The resulting relish is truly delicious.Preparation time: 15 minutes.2 cups washed raw cranberries 2 skinned and cored apples 1 large, whole (peel ON) seedless orange, cut into sections 2 cups granulated sugar Set up the grinder with a medium-sized blade on the edge of a table with a large roasting pan or bowl to catch the mix as it grinds. Saturday Anna saw the doctor and was given a prescription for Strep throat. Friday, Saturday AND Sunday were filled with throat-swollen whining, sleepy complaints and prickly attitudes given over maliciously batted eyelashes.Friday, Saturday and Sunday were filled with attempts by me to bat away frustration at said whining, complaints, attitudes, and several time outs. By yesterday evening I was a little batty and took my frustrations out on several loads of laundry.Last night as I put Anna to bed, feeling a little better after 2 1/2 days of antibiotics she said her nightly prayers."Jesus, I'm sorry for complaining about... EVERYTHING. Amen."Amen indeed.

No, you don’t need to check your calendar - today is in fact Sunday. I have a pile of laundry the size of Paul Bunyan to do, but when you have a baby scampering away to dash up the stairs every time you turn your back, you can’t exactly sequester yourself in the laundry room. If Scott doesn’t come home at a reasonable time, I’ll either be recycling a bra from last week tomorrow or wearing something stretchy that provides zero support (...like an undershirt). Not that anyone cares.

I wanted to come up with something original, but couldn't think of anything. I could have written about my kitten, and the fact that she was bugging me while I was in my kitchen all Saturday making homemade cinnamon rolls. I took over a pan (from the first batch) to my neighbor and ended up talking for 2 hours... meanwhile the second batch sat rising, and rising and rising. I feel all giddy - I've not done any work - No university, no website stuff - nothing! And it feels great! I'm so used to being busy but I just haven't had it in me recently. I've spent lots of evenings knitting in front of the TV - I've finished the back of my cardigan - re done after realising I was using two different sized needles! But I've done it again and really enjoyed it. It's nothing taxing - stockinette stitch mainly. But I often like simple, repetitive knitting - it's very meditative.
I went shopping at the sales yesterday. There's lots of great stuff around because our summer in the UK has been so rubbish that no one's been buying summer clothes. I got some holiday stuff - bikinis and a cut away swimsuit which I can't decide if it's sexy or silly! John said the former but he paused a bit too long before answering! I'm getting really excited about going away - even though it's 3 months away! I've been looking at the Kennedy Space Centre website ton
ugh. Does it happen to you? You have this fun weekend. J is home. We unpack, organize, check out the church and run off to Albuquerque. We enjoy tons of family time. J & I watch theLord of the Rings Trilogy. We relax.
Then Monday comes. ugh. I wish it were Sunday. Laundry has piled up. The sea foam green carpet looks like Rhinos have run through. The kitchen looks like a science lab. ugh.
Becca is enjoying some cool finds we discovered while garage sale shopping (really we must stop). Ethan scored a Jumperoo this weekend. Becca had a hand me down exercersauser that we did not save, this new fandled thing is high tech! I have debating and debating. Ethan’s head control and even leg strength is amazing. His tummy time has helped him out so much. In fact he almost rolled over yesterday! So I did not really want yet another thing to place him in. It gets to easy to put him away and forget about it. Yuck.
However, at Target when we tried out the Jumperoo, Ethan instantly smiled

It might not be quite as good a title as Her Space Holiday's debut, the fraught Home Is Where You Hang Yourself, but Manic Expressive--the second full-lengther from Marc Bianchi's opium-for-the-ears solo project--finds this slow-core crooner expanding his experimental brief without losing the very tender heart that beats at the center of the Her Space Holiday design. Pieced together on electronic organ and soaring computer sequencer, and carried by what sounds like an orchestra of heavenly strings (all, of course, issuing from a groaning hard drive) this is far from a conventional slow-core album, and the furthest step that Bianchi's taken from his roots in the Californian hardcore act Mohinder. 1. How do you learn best? Watch and learn? Participation? Reading directions or technical manuals?
A bit of all of those. We’ve learned craft techniques just watching YouTube videos. Learned others straight from books. When we were younger, learned sewing through participation.
2. Is one of your senses more highly developed than another? If so, which one?
Hmm.. never really thought about it. I’ll have to think about this one a little bit. It’s not my vision or hearing, that’s for sure. When the nose isn’t stuffed up due to allergies, well it’s probably not that either. What’s left touch and taste? Maybe touch.
3. Summer is almost upon us here in the northern hemisphere. What says summer to you?

What’s your favorite food item that is in your refrigerator right now?
The pasta I made last night, for left overs for lunch today! The sauce is really good. Regular jar sauce with sausage in it!

Nope, we don’t even own a bbq grill. My husband drools over them at the hardware store all the time though. It’s really funny. I do put bbq sauce on chicken and hamburgers sometimes on the stove though.
