Unsurprisingly I guess, Ronaldinho appears to have chosen a move to AC Milan over Manchester City according to the latest reports.
An ambitious move by City to sign the Brazilian looked to have been the players best option as Milan played a waiting game and for a while the Manchester club were favourites to land the [...]

Man City 0-0 WiganWigan earned an important point in their fight to avoid relegation against a Manchester City side whose season is in danger of fizzling out.HighlightsFirst HalfSecond HalfBenjani wasted City's two best chances as he was denied by Chris Kirkland's block, then turned Darius Vassell's cross wide early in the second half.City struggled to find any rhythm and Wigan finished the stronger side.Wilson Palacios should have won the game for Wigan late on, but City keeper Joe Hart made a crucial block.City were without the injured Micah Richards and suspended Martin Petrov, and the loss of two such influential figures was keenly felt in a first-half that made a mockery of its billing as entertainment.Stephen Ireland almost opened the scoring after 23 minutes with a curling shot that
Man City 0-2 EvertonEverton climbed back into fourth place in the Premier League after a comfortable win over Manchester City.HighlightsFirst HalfSecond HalfThe Toffees could have had a penalty when Tim Cahill's shot hit Micah Richards' arm and also went close when Steven Pienaar's shot hit the post.Yakubu put Everton ahead when he met Cahill's low cross and Joleon Lescott headed home a second soon after.City lost their shape completely after the break and had Martin Petrov sent off late on for kicking Leon Osman. It ended up as a ragged performance from the home side, with central-defender Richards pushed forward in the second half to leave some huge gaps at the back. And, if Everton had taken their chances and referee Rob Styles had seen two other penalty claims differently, then this woul

Arsenal climbed back to the top of the Premier League table for at least a few hours after defeating Manchester City 3-1 at the City of Manchester Stadium. The win saw the Gunners leapfrog Manchester United, who play against Tottenham at White Heart Lane later today. It was City's first home defeat this season.Arsenal grabbed an early lead through a 9th minute strike from Emmanuel Adebayor. Eduardo scored Arsenal's second with an overhead kick, but City got one back before halftime when an error from Gael Clichy enabled Gelson Fernandes to score in the 28th minute. City looked unlikely to score in the second half, and Adebayor put the match beyond doubt just before the end of regulation time with his 18th league goal of the season.Lineups:Manchester City: Joe Hart; Vedran Corluka, Micah Ri
Second-placed Arsenal take on sixth-placed Manchester City this Saturday in the day's early fixture. Arsene Wenger will be hoping to become the first manager to win at the City of Manchester Stadium this season, as City look to break back into the European spots. The stadium has become a fortress for City this season, seeing the Citizens drop only 6 points in 12 home games. Sven-Göran Eriksson's side has yet to lose at home, but could be facing their toughest test of the season against a determined Arsenal side.Traveling to a stadium in which the home team is undefeated is always a tough task, but an Arsenal team full of belief will still be full of confidence. The team are also provided continuity by the fact that Arsene Wenger's squad on Saturday will be the same as the squad that defeat

Having watched yet another lacklustre first half at the Emirates on Saturday afternoon I began to wonder. What has happened to the days when we shot right out of the blocks and the game was over after 30 minutes?
Last season the players could explain they had just moved to a new ground and it would take time to get used to the new added length and width of the pitch. However after 1 full season there this excuse no longer can stick. I worry now that Arsenal as a team seems to lack that sharpness and edge we really requite with our style of football. A few seasons back games were won by half time. The players came out and went at teams so fast they couldn’t cope and the rest of the game was simply routine.
I know counter attacking football is harder with teams sitting back with 10 men behind the ball but there isn’t the energy we’ve seen in previous seasons. Manchester City were top of the league after 3 straight victories having not conceded a goal. This match wa
Davvero ricco di emozioni il 4° turno della Premier League. Kasper Schmeichel’s heroics were not enough to preserve Manchester City’s 100% record in the Premier League this season as Cesc Fabregas struck late in the match to earn Arsenal victory. Fabregas found the top corner to become the first goalscorer against Sven-Goran Eriksson’s City, who had won their first three games.
It was particularly harsh on the imposing centre-back duo of Richard Dunne and Micah Richards, Richards’ only mistake resulting in a penalty that Schmeichel saved from Robin van Persie.
And at the other end, Eriksson and his bench were up on their feet in the second half claiming a penalty when Kolo Toure flattened Michael Johnson, but referee Chris Foy waved play on, allowing Arsenal to take advantage.
Emmanuel Adebayor returned to frist team action after a groin problem and Tomas Rosicky was also back in the team as Arsenal looked to break down a stubborn City defence.
At the back, though, Philippe Senderos was injured in the warm-up and Gi

I have to apologise for the lack of an update today but let’s just say that things have been busy for me. The Australian A-League season kicked off today and I just watched my local team Queensland draw 2-2 with Adelaide United. Writing this after the international fixtures, so far it seems we have come out of the other side with no fresh injuries. William Gallas will be out until October so Philippe Senderos will step in. Tomas Rosicky, Emmanuel Eboue and Abou Diaby are injured from the midfield with Gilberto still lacking match practice (or on the move?) Up front there are no injuries it seems; in fact Adebayor should return from injury. Denilson has also returned fully to the squad.
Team selection will be very interesting for Saturday. Starting at the back, who will take their place in goal? Well, Jens Lehmann has dropped two clangers in two league games and had a dodgy night for
Germany. He looks short on confidence and with two able keepers in the wing I would like to see Wenger give them a chance. He has talked about competition for the no.1 jersey; this is the time to prove this point. This weekend we cannot afford any errors from whoever is selected between the sticks.

A week into the new season of our title defence, and we're already staring up the table, a massive 7 points behind local rivals, Shitty. This is an almost unthinkable position given the fact we've spent massively after winning the title last season in one of the most stylish manners possible. The inability to score is really hurting us this season. Again in this game we've looked the more likely team to score but again in this game, we didn't.....or more aptly put, we couldn't. I'm sure even the most optimistic of fans will find concern in our inability to find the net.I take everything I said about Owen Hargreaves in the off season back. He was awesome. He was literally everywhere on the pitch, making the important challenges, winning the ball and pushing the play forward. There were times I actually thought Keano had returned. Yes, he was that good. It'd probably be a few more games before I'd even come close to annointing him as the next Keano, but today he certainly earned h

Ex Thailand Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra reported set to take control of English Premiership club Manchester City after lodged a formal £81.6million bid for the club. Manchester City’s board have recommended to all of the shareholders to accepted the offer. “I am delighted that the board of Manchester City has recommended my bid for the club, I am in no doubt of the responsibility associated with leading Manchester City and pledge to the fans, players and staff my utmost commitment to the future success of this great club,” Shinawatra said to the press.
Shinawatra bid could still be vetoed by the Premier League if they decide Shinawatra does not pass the Right and Proper Persons Test for Premier League.
Thaksin Shinawatra also announced that former England manager Sven Goran Eriksson would be the new City’s manager if he choose as the new City’s owner. However City fans are unhappy with the appointed of Sven Goran Eriksson. “Although Eriksson
Former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson made a statement on the media that he interested to be Manchester City manager. “City is a big, big club with unbelievable support. It would be an honour for me to be manager, like it would be for all other managers,” Eriksson said to Manchester Evening News.
“They have a beautiful stadium and the possibility of a new owner and of course I would talk to them if they indicate they are interested in me becoming coach.” Erriksson added. “City is an established Premiership club with great potential and I know they have ambitions to be challenging higher up the table.”

Caught this game at the kopitam with Kentona and our respective better halves. The atomsphere wasn't exactly the best since we were surrounded by ABUs (Anyone But United) willing Shitty on. The game itself wasn't anywhere near our best showing but against a 'massive' club like Shitty, we did enough to etch out a win.Shitty must have been rubbing their collective hands together in glee when they learnt that Rob Styles was in charge of this match. Given his abysmal record of not protecting United players, it was the green light for Shitty to 'hack-a-Ron', or anyone wearing Red for that matter. It wasn't long after the kickoff that Shitty showed their true agenda. 2 minutes into the game, Michael Ball recklessly hacked at Ronaldo and Styles, true to form, completely ignored it. It set the tone for rough-house tackles by both sides. Well, it's what you would expect from a derby anyway. To be fair, given our exhaustions in midweek, Shitty did look like the brighter of the 2 sides, for

Due to me working ridiculous hours, I have taken this report from Premierleague.com. I will be back to write after Reading!James - Staff Writer Charlton Athletic clambered out of the Barclays Premiership relegation zone for the first time since September after an action-packed draw at Manchester City. Down and virtually out when Alan Pardew became the Addicks’ third manager of the season 13 games ago, Charlton have transformed themselves into a dogged, fighting force. And the seven-point chasm to safety Pardew had to bridge has now been closed completely by a five-match unbeaten run, with the Londoners now above Sheffield United on goals scored. The advantage may be slender but if the battling qualities on display at Eastlands are any guide, Charlton will collect enough points from their final six games to secure top-flight status by the middle of May. Successive wins at Middlesbrough and Newcastle United may have virtually ende

We never really looked close to firing on all cylinders in the big Manchester derby. Credit to City for a spirited performance, stifling our midfield. However in the end that little bit of extra quality shone thru and we came away with all three points to go 9 ahead of Chelsea.
We had a bright start to the game when Rooney put us ahead with his 50th premiership goal in the opening 5 minutes. Despite our early goal, I believe City had most of the possession in the half. Thankfully they lacked any sort of quality up front. Rio and Vidic were hardly troubled.
At the end of the half, it became Saha's turn to notch his 50th premiership goal after some determined effort from Hienze to cross the ball to him. It's becoming a healthy race between Saha and Rooney to outdo one another.
Again in the second half, City had alot possession without troubling Van Der Sar. We were beginning to impose our football on City, stringing passes, and coming close to scoring the third. However it was City who
A month ago, Arsenal’s season took a turn for the worse at St Andrews. While the striker continues to [...]
Although referee Rob Styles did his level best to make sure Birmingham City landed the three points on Saturday, Manchester City manager Sven-Goran Eriksson has refused to blame the official too much for his team’s defeat. Out of all the Premier League football managers that should lose their jobs in the summer, would Sven-Goran Eriksson have been on anyone’s top three list? According to the Daily Mirror, Luiz Felipe Scolari is set to become the next manager of Manchester City. Goodness, that has a familar ring to it. Perhaps it’s because Luiz Felipe Scolari was in line to replace Sven-Goran Eriksson as England manager two years ago, before the Brazilian decided he could do without the hassle of being hounded by the press on a 24 / 7 basis. Nevertheless, Manchester City owner Thaksin Shinawatra [...]
