      Mallorca: Idyllic Spanish Island
Mallorca: Idyllic Spanish Islandby Miranda Grace RobinsonIf you want a reasonably-priced holiday, offering as much or as little activity as you feel like, the Spanish island of Mallorca is the place for you. There is an endless amount to see and do, and there's also peace and tranquillity if you prefer that. Personally, I like a mixture - a day in the mountains, a day in Palma, a day exploring the local culture and history punctuated by lots of cafs, some nice lunches out, a bit of shopping and hours of dozing on the beach.Mallorca is best known by many as a magnet for British people seeking sun, sand, cheap booze and wild nightlife. If this is what you want, you can certainly find it, particularly in Magaluf and Palmanova, where it's high-rise hotels, discos and chips with everything. The

      Viaje a Mallorca- Capítulo I

      Magalluf (Mallorca)
Magalluf also known as Magaluf is located on the southern coast of Mallorca (also known as Majorca). The popular beach resort of Magalluf is particularly famous for its bars, restaurants and excellent white sand beaches. A vibrant night-life makes the town a popular summer holiday destination for singles and couples seeking good times and a party atmosphere. British tourists are well catered for with many businesses making them the main focus this means that familiar food and drink is readily available, however because of this Magalluf retains very few Mallorcan traditions. Daytime in Magalluf the place to be is the beach either to laze away and soak up the sun, topping up that holiday tan, or you could enjoy some of the wide selection of water sports. There is always plenty to see and do. It is at night when Magalluf really comes alive with a non-stop action packed night-life which is ideal for those wanting to let their hair down and party. Mallorca. Sol, playa y descanso
(more…) Compártelo

Wingfield aims for the hotel to be the finest not just on Mallorca – itself brimming with luxury establishments – but in Spain as a whole.Of course, when you say 'luxury hotel' to most people, the first place they'll probably think of is the Burj al Arab in Dubai, that high-rise, sail-shaped structure rising out of the sea. That's the sort of standard that will be available at this hotel too, as it's due to be managed by the Jumeirah group, which also oversees the running at the Burj.

We have arrived in Mallorca and have settled in. I'll post pictures next week when I can use a laptop, for now the net cafes do not allow me to connect my card reader into their computers. Today we explored the east side of the islands where the hill top towns are. Tired hillsides with groves of lemon, olives and grapes lined up as if the mountain were a gigantic stairway to the sky. We finally found a supermarket to stock our fridge with normal things like coffee, pasta and shampoo. Normally people go to small open air markets around the island for basic essentials like fish, eggs, and produce. Wine here at the shops are deceptively cheap, 2£ for a bottle?? I hope its good....  Wineries on Monday, as they are not open on Saturdays. Several to try in the East through the mountain villages.
