Arvedson was drafted 119th overall by the Ottawa Senators in 1997 at the age of 25. He played 6 seasons with the Sens before being acquired by the Vancouver Canucks in 2003 via free agency. Arvedson got off to a slow start in Vancouver, but over time he really fit into a checking role, and was very effective at it. Unfortunately, Arvedson's first season with the Canucks was cut short by a knee injury, and he was let go in the summer. Arvedson was signed by Farjestad (Sweden) in August of 2004.
