Harvey Mackay and the Importance of a Smile
I’ve admired Harvey Mackay for a long time -- ever since the first time I read his book DIG YOUR WELL BEFORE YOU’RE THIRSTY with the subtitle “The Only Networking Book You’ll Ever Need.” (I’ve read the book more than once.) In truth, Mackay wrote his book before the internet took off, so you’ll probably need at least one other more “current” networking book. And he wrote his book mostly for people further along in their careers than high school and college students, although everyone can benefit from his words of wisdom. In my opinion, Mackay’s DIG YOUR WELL BEFORE YOU’RE THIRSTY is still the best networking advice book I’ve ever read – and I’ve read several newer ones. Every Thursday I get an email of Mackay’s weekly newsletter. And no matter h

Donna Jean Godchaux-MacKay: Muscle Shoals, Memphis And The Long Strange Trip
Donna Jean Godchaux-Mackay was born and raised in Sheffield, Alabama. Panama City Real Estate and Jennifer Mackay
I was asked the other day by a new client (who loved my Panama City Fl Real Estate website by the way :) ) to add some additional personal information to my blog. So here it is...I'm originally from New Jersey and moved to Califonia many years ago after meeting Jessie. Actually, I went for a visit with him in California and decided to stay (he hasn't been able to get rid of me since :) )!While living in California, I became a NAUI Scuba Divemaster to assist Jessie (who was a NAUI Scuba Instructor Trainer) teaching Scuba classes. We traveled quite a bit to Mexico and the Caribbean for Scuba Diving and had a great time. At that time, Jessie was a successful Computer consultant and I was working as a manager for a Real Estate Escrow and title company. We purchased our first home in West Covina, Ca which was our first major remodeling project (what a nightmare that was). After a few years of traveling, we began looking for a vacation home to purchase rather than spending a fortune on hote

Dion and May Join Efforts to Defeat Mackay
Liberal Leader Stephane Dion and Green Party Leader Elizabeth May have announced that they will work together to oust Foreign Affairs Minister Peter MacKay from his seat in the next federal election. The move could lead to the Canada's first Green Party Member of Parliament.Earlier today, Dion announced that the Liberals would not run a candidate in Mackay's Nova Scotia riding of Central Nova during the next federal election where Elizabeth May plans to run. With a second place showing to her credit from November's by-election in London North Centre, May stands and excellent chance of defeating Mackay - a high profile, but vulnerable member of the Conservative Party.Peter Mackay is best known for his sad sack personal life that includes being publicly and politically dumped by former Conservative Leadership hopeful Belinda Stronach, and later for his high profile date with Condeleeza Rice at a Nova Scotia Tim Horton's. His 'affair' with Rice had the convenient side benefit of

MacKay tries to aid in Middle East peace talks
But of course Pro-Palestinian groups in Canada are pissed off, it's not a surprise. After all, they'll get a better deal out of the Liberals, whom they vote for in large majorities anyway. And do they seriously buy into this whole negotiating with terrorist organizations and maybe they'll suddenly turn into peaceniks and lay down their weapons? We need to recognize what organizations like Hamas are, and not be afraid to say so. Of course there's a better way than to just point the finger at them. We should readily admit that there are in fact people in power in the Middle East that want to eradicate Israel. At the same time, we must work to solve the problem not by engaging the arrogant leaders of those groups, but the people at the grassroots. Many of them don't want more bloodshed, they'd rather have peace. But they think that terrorist organizations will bring them that peace. Convincing those people will be easier than talking with groups like Hamas.Despite MacKay's ambitiou

Secretary Rice Remarks With Canadian Foreign Minister Peter MacKay (VIDEO)
Remarks With Canadian Foreign Minister Peter MacKay, FULL STREAMING VIDEO, Secretary Condoleezza Rice, Benjamin Franklin Room, Washington, DC, December 21, 2006, (1:50 p.m. EST)SECRETARY RICE: Good afternoon. I'm pleased to welcome my colleague, the Foreign Minister of Canada, Peter MacKay. Peter, welcome. We've had an extensive discussion this afternoon of a number of issues on the bilateral agenda. Of course, because Canada and the United States share a long border, share extensive trade, share extensive movement of people and indeed share a friendship and a border that's quite unlike any other in the world, we have a lot of issues but they are, of course, issues of neighbors and we've been talking about those. We, of course, also share a global agenda and we are just delighted to have -- and very grateful to have a friend like Canada, a friend with which we, of course, share values, but with which we are also now sharing many of the duties and responsibilities of the global strug

Gormley throws MacKay a bone, and tells Goodale "bad dog!"
NewsTalkRadio host John Gormley has chosen to back up Peter MacKay [also a former Progressive Conservative] and called Belinda “flaky” while saying it’s not so important for Peter to say he’s sorry for for calling Belinda a “dog” in the House of Commons. “…the controversy over what Conservative Peter McKay did or didn't say in the House of Commons about his dog.” He even seems to dispute that MacKay said what he did, by saying “did or didn’t say”. “Saskatchewan's Ralph Goodale, says the McKay comments were sexist, they reflect on the entire Conservative government and now even call into question the government of Canada's ability to advocate for the rights of women in Afghanistan. Note to Ralph Goodale:  enough overkill on the hyperbole can make people wonder about your judgment.” Note to Gormley: I know you’re in the entertainment business, so hyperbole is your bread and butter, but giving

The story about Stronach and MacKay
During a fiery debate in the House of Commons about the Clean Air Act, a Liberal deputy asked Peter MacKay, the Foreign Affairs minister, how his dog was doing and guess what he said. MacKay told to the Liberal deputy that the Liberals "have it" by pointing the empty seat that is normally occupied by former Human Resources minister Belinda Stronach. It's true that Stronach, in her days as a Tory, was MacKay's girlfriend. I don't see why McKay referred to his former love interest as a "dog". This is not the first time that Peter MacKay makes a tough remark to a woman. Do you remember the time when he said to Alexa McDonough, a deputy of the New Democratic Party, to "go back to [her] knitting"?It looks like these pathetic Tories tolerate this kind of attitude towards women if you look at the financial cut that Heritage minister Bev Oda did to organizations that are supposed to defend the condition of women... I'm getting sick of Stephen Harper and his fellow Tory buddies. On an another
