Ini mengenai player yang saya temukan ketika mencari player untuk membuka file video berformat .MKV (Matsroska) karena format ini tidak umum di dukung oleh player biasa (WMP atau Winamp). File MKV ini paling bisa dibuka dengan WMP (Windows Media Player) kalau kita install lagi codec tersendiri, tapi beberapa file MKV tetap saja tidak dapat dibaca.Setelah cari sana-cari sini, coba beberapa player yang mendukung file MKV, akhirnya saya temukan player yang cocok, ringan (butuh spesifikasi kompi biasa aja dan ukuran file dalam hardisk yang kecil) dan GRATISSS !!!!. Hoy me he traído el portátil al trabajo para actualizarme a la versión 7.10 (Gutsy Gibbon) de Ubuntu. La verdad es que tenía un poco de pánico ya que me había pasado mi tiempo para tunear Ubuntu como Mac, había tenido problemas con el audio y aunque no funcionaba mi lector/grabador de DVDs todo lo demás (incluídos los efectos de Compiz-Fusion con ATI) funcionaba a la perfección. Por fín me he decidido a actualizarlo y no sólo me ha seguido funcionando todo sino que además ¡Ahora me funciona el lector/grabador de DVDs! (que además de HD DVD)
Bueno, paso a contestar a tres dudas que he recibido por email (alguna hace un tiempo... siento el retraso) que seguro que que le ha pasado a más de uno. La primera es sobre el MPlayer: "El MPlayer no me reproduce los vídeos. Cuando abro uno se oye el sonido pero el vídeo no se ve". Ante esto puedes hacer dos cosas:

Al detectar un vídeo embebido, Firefox en Linux lanza el plugin Mplayer (siempre que lo tengas instalado, claro)
Pero después de almacenar el 99 % en buffer, la pantalla queda en gris sin iniciarse la reproducción como si estuviese esperando el 1 % restante.
En realidad se trata de una conducta que se presta a confusión. Basta que con el botón derecho selecciones la opción Reproducir, o bien que pulses sobre el icono correspondiente en la barra de controles.
Así y todo, a veces puede quedarse bloqueada la reproducción, sobre todo si repites la operación.
Una alternativa es reproducir sin almacenar en buffer, es decir sin descarga previa. Botón derecho del mouse -> Configuración -> activa Reproducir multimedia directamente del sitio
¿Alguien sabe cómo mejorar el comportamiento del plugin?

Wer beim Firefox die Meldung bekommt, dass er ein unbekanntes Format gefunden hat mit dem Namen Application/x-mplayer2 und man dadurch keine Streams abspielen kann, kann das ganz einfach lösen.
Sucht per Google nach folgenden DLL Dateien,
* npwmsdrm.dll
* npdsplay.dll
und kopiere diese in das Plugin Vezeichnis von Firefox.
Nun sollten nach einem Neustart alle Streams wieder laufen.
Oder Ihr bennutzt den direkten Download, den ich Euch mal raus gesucht habe.
