The puzzle game Lumines has just released on Steam, Valve’s digital-distribution platform for PC. Lumines is available on Steam now for as low as $9.95 (for the Base Pack).

With many thanks to GucciPAPA for sending us his Korean Lumines UMD, and to everyone else who offered to send theirs (including NeofaN, KkalKkal, Jabum, www.yourpsp.in ), we’re proud to present an updated version of the v3.50 Lumines HEN and downgrader.The only change in this version is support for the Korean version of Lumines (ULKS46005). This now means that the downgrader should work on all unpatched versions of Lumines, on all regions of PSP, and all current PSP hardware, on firmware v3.50. If you have a lower firmware, you can upgrade to v3.50. If you have v3.51, then there is no way to downgrade at this time.

O mejor dicho, un clon de Lumines creado en Flash. Pero hey, la esencia se mantiene. Este juego, que es quizás uno de los más vendidos para la portátil PSP de Sony, fue toda una revolución, cuando salió en el 2005.
El juego se asemeja bastante a Tetris, aunque la musica toma un rol mucho más importante. Caen bloques compuestos de 4 cuadrados, con dos diferentes colores. Lo que tenemos que hacer, es formar otros bloques grandes que tengan todos el mismo color. Y la linea vertical que pasa cada cierto tiempo, eliminará dichos cuadrados. Más puntos se logran cuando se crean más bloques del mismo color a ser eliminados.
Adictivo? Bastante. Todavía está en beta, así que esperen ver varias mejoras en el futuro.

Starting December 17th, and running through December 23rd, Microsoft is running a tournament for all the Lumines fans. Be one of the top 105 players and you can nab yourself a bevy of sweet prizes.
The grand prize winner will grab a Hitachi UltraVision 42" Plasma HDTV, four runner ups will get “A Holiday Challenge Price Pack including: an HD-DVD bundle and a Wireless Bundle (Wheel, headset).” If you at least make it into the top 100 though you’ll get 500 MS Points Tokens “to be redeemed for Xbox Live imagery.”
I have no idea what “XBox Live Imagery” is supposed to the top five prizes are definitely pretty sweet.
