Lotus has announced upgrades to their Elise convertible sportscar in 2008 with the most powerful production version so far.The Lotus Elise SC will create 217bhp from it's supercharged engine giving breathtaking performance estimated at 0-60 in 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 150mph. The Lotus designed supercharger uses a smaller rotor pack and no intercooler compared to the current Exige S coupe, and is married to the intake manifold plenum as part of a single-piece casting which saves 8kg over its hard-top sibling. The car has a removable hard-top roof, redesigned front with new headlights and an aerodynamic kit which makes it a very appealing sports car. You may have noticed from my blog header image that I’m a fan of the Lotus Elise. The saffron yellow Elise in the header looks great in the beach photo but my choice of colour would be black. The Lotus Elise 111s performance specs are:

What’s amazing about the performance specs is the relatively low BHP and torque figure yet very quick 0-60 time of 5.1 seconds. The quick performance is due to the very low weight of the car aprox. 720kg compared to 1250kg for a Porsche Boxster.
A black Lotus Elise 111s is what I want and am saving like crazy to get it as soon as possible.
