      London calling

London Calling - The City of Old and the City of New
As far as cities go, there are few that can rival London’s bold, brash and bustling vibrancy. Not only is it a modern, cosmopolitan epicentre of international activity, it is also steeped in history, having been settled for almost two thousand years, including periods of Roman and even Viking rule.It could be said that London has more than its fair share of iconic images, from Big Ben and Tower Bridge to Buckingham Palace and red double-decker buses. But these photo-friendly attractions may only offer limited entertainment for the snap-happy tourist, and as beautiful and historically significant as they are, it’s important to remember that London has so much more to offer. In fact, there’s no shortage of things to do in London that will appeal to all interests and budgets. For starters, there’s the British Museum which is open every day and has free entry. It holds in trust for the UK one of the finest collections of art and antiquities in existence, including the Rosetta Stone

      London Calling
It's hard to be hip - the endless guest-lists, the parties, the best seats in restaurants - but that's not the half of it. It's a very serious business indeed, calling (not unlike therapy) for years of total commitment and relentless hard work.London has been characterized as one of Europe's "hippest' cities: for the inveterate traveller it's a dream come true! If you're looking for cool, happening and cutting edge, you're in the right place. However, hipness is a minefield of hidden dangers: so a little advice… It's better to be seen in a bar or a café than a restaurant. Tucking into a three-course meal will leave you out in the cold and hidden from view in a way that propping up a bar or hanging out in a café doesn't.There's a trip to staying hip… here are some of the essential hipster's restaurants, bars and clubs. There's sure to be something here to lift your spirits and add to a great night out. Those searching for a fashionable spot won't

      London Calling
Well, I've just returned from London for an interview. Somehow my dodgy CV managed to impress somebody enough to consider me for a Copywriter/Marketing Assistant role with an internet company in Mayfair! I am amazed to have even got this far.Whether it went well or not I honestly can't say. I liked the atmosphere in the office and I liked my interviewees. I am afraid that I did perhaps come across as a bit too creative and not professional enough, but we'll just have to wait and see. As always I couldn't stop a big smile from lighting up my face as I alighted at Paddington; it felt like coming home. Would have been nice to catch up with some friends but it being a work day they'd all be up to their eyes in it, and also I didn't really have time to socialise. What with a three hour journey there and back, lunch, makeup check and finding my way, I was lucky to even have a toilet break. Here's hoping I may be on my way to glory and if not, at least I know my CV is good enough for th

Red blogule to London calling... for trouble
Two days ago, 135 people were killed in a terror attack in Baghdad's Sadriya market. That one did make the headlines, unlike the other days, when terror claims only the equivalent of the 7/7 London bombings.About the same day, many people were arrested in London in what appeared to be a plot to abduct and behead a muslim soldier. A great victory for counter terrorism being often followed by the revelation of a not so glorious news for the Government, I just sat and waited for it to pop up.It didn't take long for UK's army to confess 15 minor soldiers had been sent to Iraq. Actually, underaged combattants happened to be one of the few disgraces lacking to Tony Blair's impressive collection. We'll have to scratch our heads to find the next one...According to Saint Tony, 7/7 had nothing to do with Iraq and the invasion of Iraq had something to do with the war on terror.According to me, Ruppert Murdoch had something to do with the election of Tony Blair and Fox News' broadcasting of
