Add to OnlywireMartin Seligman, in the 60's, did rather cruel experiments on dogs. He exposed them to a tone and a brief electrical shock from which they were unable to escape - restraining the dog in a harness during the learning phase. The idea, then, was that after the dog learned this, the dog would feel fear on the presentation of a tone, and would then run away or do some other behavior. (Step 1 dog associates sound of tone with shock.)
In Step 2, they put the conditioned dog into a shuttlebox, which consists of a low fence dividing a box into two compartments. The dog could easily see over the fence, and easily jump over it . Then they presented the tone. Surprisingly, nothing happened. (They were expecting the dog to jump over the fence, to avoid the shock.) Then, they decided to shock the conditioned dog, and again nothing happened! The dog just lay there!

The Locus Plethore, dubbed the "Quebec Bomb", developed by HHT Locus Technologies in Quebec, led by Luc Chartrand, debut at the 2007 Montreal Auto Show as a preproduction foam prototype. Chartrad and HHT Locus technologies has been developing collapsable steering wheel for Champ car and mastering composite chassis reconstruction for Ferraris and Lamborghinis. This is the first Canadian supercar ever. Beside it, a GM Performance 8.2L small block rated at 550 - 1000 hp (claimed by HHT Locus website) was displayed with a potential of up to 1300 hp. The chassis and body is made entirely out of carbon fiber with no engine subframe hence the chassis is exceptionally rigid. The car will weigh approximately 2500 lb; if mated to the 1300 hp engine, the vehicle will have the power to weight ratio of a Formula 1 race car. Surfing around the web, we came across this concept car, Audi Locus by Ugur Sahin. Looking like TT and R8’s son from the future, this concept car impresses with its curved design, creating a continuous flow from front until the back of the car. Il nome LOCUS significa una condizione che definisce una figura continua che è una curva. Le caratteristiche principali di questro progetto è il design superficiale che è formato da linee continue che partono dalla parte anteriore fino ad arrivare a quella posteriore dell’automobile. Il designer Ugur Sahin si è ispirato alla sinuosità della natura che è la madre di tutto ciò di cui ci occupiamo quotidianamente ma non ci rendiamo conto che le linee naturali di tutto ciò che ci circonda sono sinuose e curvilinee e poco spesso dritte e perfettamente rette. German car manufacturers are known for their straight lines with "serious" design, not for passionate forms usually found in Italian super-cars. I’m not saying that as a bad thing, but I sometimes want to see more passion together with their technologically advanced cars.
