On the one hand, I think a bold woman could completely pull this off as an every day bag. It could also be really cute for evening with a simple dress. On the other hand, I think I had a purse like this when I was in middle school and thus wouldn't be able to carry it without flash backs of frizzy hair and OMG HE JUST LOOKED AT ME! If you're interested, this rose bag by LimeNRose is $24.99 on ebag
Last night (31st Oct) we had another exciting night at our martial art school with our Halloween fun night. The kids were very hyped-up and excited. I believe that I only added to the problem by providing plenty of yucky, sticky sweets as prizes.Although in Britain Halloween has become more popular in recent years, there are those who find Halloween literally a very scary experience, especially fo

Most of the fellas that I associate with are average in their preference for women. They prefer smaller women not to mention their definition of hips and curves are vastly different than mine. Years ago they used to tease me for my preference for bigger ladies, making comments like “you are just freaky” [...]
I hate people who say, "art is dead." I also hate people who say, "the earth is dying." This post is only about those who say art's dead -- but fuck you pessimistic earth lovers. Thank God every single one of you will be in the rotting ground before you know how that story ends.As for those who believe art is dead or just wriggling in capitalistic oxygen like a suffocating goldfish, let me agree with you on one issue -- it takes a shit ton of blood money and marketing and evil product placement to make a movie. But if a movie isn't live art, if Murakami's Van Deutch bags aren't either, then what is "live" art? Kant's definition of pure art, "A Priori", is not live either -- Art is only pure when it comes out of a writer's head, and artist's hands, a poet's soul. And you know what that p
By The Backyard Scrawlerbackyardscrawl@gmail.comFor someone who fancies Pittsburgh sports talk at the water cooler by day and on the bar stool by night, a passerby posed a question to me the other day that stopped me dead in my tracks:“So who do you think they’ll get in the second round?” “Hmmmm…” I was aghast, not knowing whether to slap this person for asking such a presumptuous question or bear-hug him in hopes of consoling each other’s obsession over predicting next week’s NFL Draft. I mean, for the love of Mel Kiper, how on earth can you guess who the Steelers are going to take with the 53rd overall pick if you don’t know who they are selecting at 23? But if you’ve determined picks 1 through 52 off the top of your head then, boy, I must salute your savvy fanhood. T
So to free audio books.
some people love them and some people loathe them.
I’m going to tell you that right now that I come into the first group.
I love audio books.
Why some people loathe them I’m not quite sure. Perhaps it’s because they don’t like the way they’re read and some people don’t like the abridged [...]

On June 7, Basel sees the start of the largest sporting event hosted by Switzerland since the 1954 World Cup. And when you look at how much football has changed since then, you can understand why the little Alpine nation has decided to share hosting duties this time with its Austrian neighbours.
Football is no longer [...]

Pay Per Post. Blog to Profit. Sponsored Reviews. Review Me. Product reviews are the new black.
Many of my favorite bloggers have recently opened up their own product review blogs. Izzy’s even keeping a blogroll for them all.
Savvy companies are now recognizing the viral power of bloggers and tripping over themselves to mail out free samples of everything from tampons to toilet cleaner. But anyone with a little public relations knowledge knows that influencing people involves trust and commonality. When the mommy blogs I read suddenly start posting about life insurance, moving companies, and eco-friendly home products, something just doesn’t feel right. Readers can tell when a post is a review or paid post vs a post where the blogger just talks about something they use and love. Bloggers recognize this, hence the explosion of “review blogs.”
Now I like to get free stuff as much as anyone, and I like to make money as much as anyone, but I have to wonder how long
The kind that preys upon the fear of parents. Ugh! It just irks me. This is what I’m talking about: I got home from shopping today to find a note taped to my front door. It says:
ATTENTION NEIGHBORS
A SEX OFFENDER HAS MOVED INTO THIS AREA!!!
WE ARE ASKING EVERYONE TO BECOME AWARE!!!
FINED OUT WHO THEY ARE AND WHAT THEIR ADDRESS IS!
(Yes, that’s how they spelled “find.”) It included a URL, which I’m not going to give the benefit of linking to, but it is www dot neighborhoodredalert dot com. (And, yes, you have to type the www or it doesn’t work, which is, just, what? Super effective web presence, there?)
It’s not a personal warning - it’s a mass produced note created to illicit fear in parents, so that they’ll pay money to log onto this site and find out information that’s generally provided for FREE. Hate that!
Okay, besides that whole comparison to used car salesmen and such. I’m not really talking about the image, I’m talking about the reality.
Yesterday, I was talking to someone in a casual setting in a public place. They asked what I did for a living and I told them. I didn’t mention investing at all in any way. Then they started talking about how bad the economy was and how tough it is for them to make ends meet each month. I asked what they did for a living and they told me they were unemployed. I asked what skills, training or education they had and they said they had a high school diploma and some college. I asked them what they really would like to do and it was basically do nothing and get income each month like their rich landlord does.
I mentioned that the profit margins on rental property were rather thin and the reaction was like I called their baby ugly.
The wealth envy was so thick you could cut it with a knife!
They ranted on and on about how the landlord ha
There was a time, I loved house hunting, A time I cherished it with all my toe jam. Now I loathe it. There isn't a reason for me to be impatient about things, when I really don't want to leave here at all, but I want it done and over with, and we still have anohter couple months to go. Sooner or later, depending on everything in the process. We haven't found cheapie homes yet, but we still got time. I have opened G up to a 2 bed, he just doesn't want a small two bed, well neither do I. but a 2 decent bed house would be good, if we can't get three. What I hate also, is that it's all false advertising online. The price ranges in rent in one place, was from from the reality when talking to the manager themselves. I would have chewed their head off, but I wasn't in the mood to do so. I am too kind for that anyways. Then I find a three bed for really cheap, and I knew it was too good to be true, and I imagined cockroaches scurrying throughout the walls. Cheap big homes are usually lik
Rachel Zoe (nee Rosenzweig) seems always to be at the epicenter of some gossip scene. Styling the likes of Kiera Knightley, Mischa Barton, Lindsay Lohan and formerly Nicole Richie (who could forget their highly publicized split last fall), Ms. Zoe has garnered the respect of the fashion community while also raising eyebrows for her rather 'in the limelight' persona, running counter to what many believe should be a low-profile position as the stylist not the star.Zoe is featured in this weeks NY Times Thursday Styles section. Read it here.
There's a been a lot of talk on the blogs about how we Orange County residents feel about our fair county. The perception seems to be that there is a significant minority of people living in OC, that actually don't like living here. It follows that members of this minority don't like one or more aspects of living here whether it be traffic, the economy, crime, pollution or some other facet of life in OC.Now, I'm certain there are some people in OC that feel that way. There are people everywhere in the world that feel that way and that some level of dissatisfaction with environment is unavoidable and universal. And, even if a little discontent turns out some how not to be universal, we all know we've got out malcontents here by what we've read on the blogs. But do they represent a significant minority of OC residents?I'd like to find out just how people feel about life and quality of life here in Orange County; so I've posted a poll that basically asks the question: "How do you
