What anime has evolved into.
Recently there has been an influx of anime to live action films in production. Right now there are two major live action films on the horizon: Dragonball and Speed Racer.
First off, lets talk about Dragonball. As amazing as I’m sure this 100 million dollar film will be, I have a slight inkling that it will be somewhere between a gargantuan and a titanic flop. Why? Because despite what they may think, this film is about 10 years too late. I’d like to say that I see on average fewer shirts with flames, wolves, or flaming wolves on them, which can only mean that those who did watch the show have now grown up into neckbearded college students with interests lying in more “elegant” shows (see image).

Hace ya tiempo que leí la noticia referente al Live Action de Dragon Ball Z, el cual prometía ser una de las películas más esperadas por el público aficionado al género de la animación japonesa. Thats what the latest buzz in the rumor mill is saying. Aparently the WB is following the latest trend of turning popular comics into live action films. According to Cinimatical a script for AKIRa was written back in 2003 by James Robison and the WB recently hired Irish director Ruairi Robinson to mastermind the project.
What can we expect from him? Something along the lines of his film “The Silent City” which is based in a similarly dark war torn future. Personally I think this movie could be straight uncut raw dope, as long as they stick to the details. But seeing how they turned spiderman into a tap dancing emo, we cant have too high expectations on this one. {source}

Not to be outdone by Capcom's recent announcement of a new live-action Street Fighter movie, SNK Playmore has recently unveiled the early details of a King of Fighters action movie to be directed by Hong Kong director Gordon Chan. Though I'm always hesitant about video game to movie properties (especially those based on fighting games), the project so far with the scant details at least sounds promising. Hace un tiempo me pasaron un video del supuesto trailer de "Evangelion. The Movie" cosa que a mí me emocionó sobremanera y quedé muy sorprendida pero (siempre hay un "pero") al ver el dichoso video (y leer la descripción de el) caí en la cuenta de que sólo era un "fan-video", o sea un video creado por un fan de como sería el trailer si el Live Action de Evangelion se estrenara.
Después de eso, me puse a investigar y aparecieron más videos de otros fans que lo que hacen es tomar partes de otras películas para formar el trailer; y déjenme decirles que no les quedan nada mal y no, no está muy "fumado" el concepto ya que parece que hay partes "reales" o sea que van muy acordes con la historia que muchos conocemosEstos videos desataron mucha polémica al momento de salir (y creo que aun sigue) ya que algunos fanáticos se sintieron engañados porque piensan que son cortos oficiales, pero los creadores de los trailers lo hicieron para motivar a todos los fans de esta apocalíptic
Parece ser que vamos a entrar en la era Evangelion, ya que hay dos proyectos en un futuro cercano-medio.
