There is something strangely familiar about the new live.com interface.. and a clear sign that Microsoft are starting to look at Google and see where they can emulate their success.
For me, this is definitely good news.. not enough to make me switch search engines yet.. but encouraging.
The problem with MSN / Live.com was never really with the interface. In fact, I'd say that Yahoo has a greater interface problem than any of the others. The Yahoo home page is still stuck in the late 90's search engine "portal" concept. The simplicity of Google's interface was one of its original attractions. Seems like every time the new-look Live Search Home Page was tested, we happened to be online and caught it, but now the new look is here to stay. If you don’t already see it at www.live.com you will soon. The new look started appearing last night, and the modules that were broken on my.live.com (the personalized home page) including at least for me the Live Clock and CBS Sportsline scores, are now working again.

If you are on the road with cell in hand or anywhere that you have phone service, you can dial Google 411 to have it lookup business numbers for you (sorry not residential yet!). Rather than pay your cell companies outragageous 411 charge when looking for a business or certain types of information -try Google 411. Dial 1-800-GOOG-411.
I find stuff like this amazing and ultimately better for all us, maybe it will help make up for the increase in gas prices (save $.99 on a 411 call go 10 miles further down the road with the money you saved)! Hace aproximadamente 3 meses comenté en el blog que el equipo de Live Search estaba planificando lanzar su servicio para webmasters y se podía aplicar intentar conseguir una invitación a la beta. Hace ya unos días recibí la invitación para poder empezar a utilizar el servicio y a pesar que está muy fresco aún, me gustaría compartirlo con ustedes.
Por motivos de programación (recuerdo que está en estado beta) no pude agregar mis páginas hasta el día de hoy. El servicio se llama Webmaster Center y su labor será imitar la que tiene Webmaster Tools de Google aunque le queda mucho camino por recorrer.
Lo primero que veremos será el “dashboard” con el resumen de todos los dominios que hemos agregado y el método de autentificación que hemos utilizado:

Live Search a publicado en su Blog oficial que a sacado en versión beta su portal de ayuda para webmasters,y que se puede acceder mediante invitacion acá esta el correo a quien le interese conseguir invitacion para portal,y que mas adelante estará disponible para uso publico. Sin duda Microsoft no quiere quedar tan atrás con su buscador ya que Google lleva por mucho la delantera,quizás con esto Live gane algunos puntos y miremos su buscador con mas ambición,ya debido a lo difícil que esta siendo ganar una buena posición en Google. MSNBot empezara a ser mas familiar para los webmasters de todas partes del mundo,y los sitemaps ya no se lo daremos solo a Google,yo por el momento ya mande el E-mail.
Google tiene Webmaster Tools, Yahoo! tiene SiteExplorer, y Live Search tiene el peor buscador en comparación a los anteriores. Pero parece que el equipo de Windows Live Search ha hecho conciencia y ya esta preparando una beta privada de su portal para webmasters.
No cabe ninguna duda que de los tres grandes, el buscador que necesita más necesita ser atornillado es el de Microsoft, pero no le hacemos la cruz a nadie. Tienen un objetivo en común el cual es: conseguir una nueva generación de herramientas, contenido y recursos para los profesionales SEO y webmasters. Yo creo que será muy parecido a los servicios de Yahoo y Google, pero mira, mientras funcione y ayude a mejorar a los webmasters y al propio buscador no me importa.
