Prodigy Speaks On Jay-Z, Nas, Little Brother, Soulja Boy & More
Mobb Deep’s Prodigy (Albert Johnson) had some harsh words for the Hip Hop community earlier. In an extremely long blog, Prodigy let off more than a few vocal barbs towards a laundry list of who’s who in hip-hop, while proclaiming himself and label mate 50 Cent as the “future of the planet.” In the opening portion of his rant, Prodigy exclaims that he and 50 Cent are the “voice of the hood and the voice of the future of this planet. Everybody copies prodigy’s rap, slang, dress code, tattoos, hairstyles, jewelery [sic] and more. Same for 50.” Prodigy then attacks a long list of emcees including Cassidy, Fat Joe, Jim Jones, Cam’ron, Lupe Fiasco, Talib Kweli, Joe Budden, Jay-Z, Nas, Phonte, Saigon, Keith Murray. The attack on Fat Joe is not surprising considering the feud brew

Little Brother - “Get back” (ABB Records / Rough Trade) Mit ihrem Debüt-Album “The Listening” (2003) wurden Little Brother über Nacht zum Geheimtipp vieler Rap-Liebhaber weltweit. Der frische Mix aus sample-basierenden Beats von 9th Wonder gepaart mit Native-Tongue inspirierten Raps der beiden MCs Phonte und Big Pooh wusste die Heads von der ersten Minute an zu begeistern. Cormega - ‘The Rap Game ft. Little Brother prod. by Khrysis’
I can definitely dig this joint. ‘The Rap Game’ is new music from Mega featuring Phonte and Big Pooh of off his upcoming album “Who am I” in stores November 20th, 2007. The production is a bit reminiscent of Hi-Tek, who I initially assumed was the architect behind the track, but it is in fact the work of Khrysis, upcoming producer out of NC, whose sound should be no stranger to you if your a fan of Little Brother… Related PostsCormega - ‘Sleep Well ft. Little Brother - ‘Dreams’
Is without a doubt my favorite joint off of the extremely solid “GetBack” in stores October 23rd. I’ve just had a opportunity to throughly scrutinizing, and I must admit, the album is quite impressive, surely a must cop. Phonte and Big Pooh have a little somethin’, somethin’ everyone can dig on the LP (new fans and old) and they have managing to achieve this without compromising themselves, couldn’t be more of a good look if you ask me. I also chose to feature Dreams becuase plain and simple the joint hits, not to mention you can never get enough inspiration in your life, whatever it is that you aspire folks, you can get it… Related PostsLittle Brother - ‘Good Clothes’Little Brother - ‘Breakin My Heart Ft. Little Brother - ‘Breakin My Heart Ft. Lil Wayne’
Well Little Brother did previously mention that Lil’ Wayne reached out to the dynamic duo, gave them accolades and suggested that they make a track together. And so I present to you ‘Breakin My Heart featuring Lil’ Wayne’, impressions? Its a funky track, everyone will dig the content and surprisingly Lil Wayne’s presence on the joint isn’t that annoying. The chemistry is there between the three, so ‘Breakin my heart’ gets my sign of approval. This is also a confirmed track off of Little Brother’s album “Getback” dropping October 23rd 2007, and in closing you gotta’ love the outro to this song, ain’t it the truth? Little Brother - ‘Time of your life ft. Carlitta Durand’
These brothas got next in a real way, I for one do hope Big Pooh and Phonte get that publicity well needed and deserved. ‘Time of your life’ is new joint from the dynamic duo definitely not slated on the “Getback” their upcoming album dropping October 23th, 2007. Its also quite the shame, the track is an instant classic and would of been a good look if it made it on there. ‘Time of your life’ has that Detroit sensual, but bangin’ vibe to it, any Slum Villa fans will dig what I’m saying. And matter of fact it sure sounds a hell of a lot like Dwele produced it and is singing on it. Carlitta Durand is obviously the sista on the chorus, but there is another anonymous brotha on there… I say its Dwele… Related PostsThe Man is bootleggin’ you, to prevent you from bootleggin’…Little Brother - ‘Good Clothes’Kanye West previews ‘Big Brother’ & ‘Champion’ on BBC Radio (video)

Little Brother's Advice (A Wedding Toast)
On July 6th, 2007, my big brother Andre tied the knot. What follows is a copy of the toast I delivered at the wedding reception:Statistics show that up to half of the marriages today end in divorce. And I know that sounds bad; but what they don't tell you is that the other half end in death. Kind of a no-win situation. And yet we find ourselves running headlong into the marital union like lemmings off a precipice. My elementary school English teacher taught me that marriage is a word. But now that I’m older, I’ve come to believe that it’s more like a sentence; life without parole! The worse part is that it is completely self-imposed. But some how, some way, some why, we find ourselves seeking, craving, longing for this imprisonment! Driven by some deep rooted masochistic desire for life-long suffering; we vow to never love another again. They say if life gives you lemons make lemonade, but isn’t getting married a bit like growing your own orchard? If you ask me, it a

Christmas Eve makes me think of my brother. We didn't get along very well when we were growing up - - mostly because I was selfish and greedy for my parent's attention and pushed the sibling rivalry thing much too far.
