The plan for the day was to visit the "Christmas Market", one of the longest established Christmas markets in the UK (held from the 6-9th Dec) in the lovely City of Lincoln. The down side, was the weather, either cloudy with some brighter periods or rain/heavy rain plus strong winds from the North. The top picture shows the cobbled area in front of the Cathedral with some of the stalls on the left. While not a whole lot seems to be going on inside the theater, there is a whole lot going on outside.  Today there must have been 6 giant city trucks all around the perimeter and up and down Long Street and the alley behind.  I think the city is mostly still working on infrastructure issues.  Meanwhile, one of the most visible changes are the digital “scoreboard” marquess that just went up — pictured here — on the east and west “short” sides. Personally, I think that is the wrong move.  The marquee had, in recent years, been updated and repaired and while the electronic marquee at the Palace seems to work fine, I’d love to see the historic marquee used, even if it means my tax dollars paying someone to stick up the letters every day. The city is really putting a lot of eggs in the Bronzeville basket, without soliciting much in the way of ideas, concerns and other input from the local residents.  Share This

Common will help with making Navigator the brand “hipper and a little cooler”, specifically marketing the African-American demographic. Recently, during a stunning Sunday morning, I decided to tour the social hub of Miami Beach, Lincoln Road Mall. Lincoln Road is a pedestrian mall which extends from the Atlantic Ocean to Biscayne Bay and except for the eastern and westernmost blocks, is completely closed to automobile traffic. Lincoln Road was named after Abraham Lincoln, who was the hero of Miami Beach co-developer Carl Fisher. Lincoln Road wasn’t always a pedestrian mall, the street was originally split down the center and open for two-way traffic. Ford presented the Iosis X crossover concept in Paris in 2006 and there were rumors that the car, which will be presented in the production version this fall in Frankfurt, will also be sold in the US, under the Lincoln badge. However, according to Automotive News, this project was rejected due to unfavorable currency exchange rate for the change.
