Even before this interview the claims of the Swift Boat Liars had been exposed as lies originating from political opponents. At the end of the week another source lacking credibility, Rush Limbaugh, claimed that they “were right on the money, and nobody has disproven anything they claimed in any of their ads, statements, written commentaries, or anything of the sort.” I’ve previously posted numerous articles disputing their claims. Media Matters reviewed some of the false claims following Limbaugh’s statement. Kerry spokesman David Wade issued the following response to Limbaugh: At first I thought, that’s not Rush, that’s just the OxyContin talking. Nonetheless, this is a despicable but unsurprising new lie from a man whose closest brush with combat came when customs officials tried to take away his Viagra.

Political Correctness is not correct.  It is not mannerly, nor is it polite.  Political Correctness is something we do (fake) so that we won’t get in trouble for saying something that someone has decided is offensive or inappropriate.  Like any other measure of society, it was born out of a legitimate concern that people were being degraded, oppressed, marginalized or in other ways offended by certain kinds of speech and behavior. Where it took a far turn is when it became the way to communicate in a sanitized and censored way.  Political Correctness also encompasses what we call damage control for when someone says or does something inappropriate.  This includes meeting with the right people, apologizing to the right people and publicly displaying the correct amount of remorse so that people will forget that you said or did whatever got you in trouble in the first place. As I stated in my last post, after watching the greatness of Serenity I had to go out and get the Firefly series on DVD. I had heard that Walmart had the set on sale for $19.86 - a pretty darn good deal. The only problem is that I hate going to Walmart. I had been there twice this week for other reasons and it was just a nightmare getting in and out and I really had no desire to repeat the experience. That's when I remembered that Best Buy has a price matching policy. I called them up to see if I could get the set for that price and they said that it would not be a problem. They said that I just needed to bring in something showing that price at Walmart. I asked what they needed and they clarified that I could either bring in a sales ad from Walmart OR I could print something off the Walmart website OR they could simply call the store for me.I packed up the kids and headed down the street to the local Best Buy. You know them.  They're also known as backstabbers.  They take a normal conversation, exaggerate it with their own stupid shit, turn it into outright lies, then spread it to their waiting brood.  The brood then turns on the poor, blind-sided coworker, banishing them into the land of stupid shit.    These are the most evil types of coworkers.  Everyone's been burned by one at some point.  It's these types of people that make the workplace such a stressful place for so many.  They usually have a large following, only because no one wants to cross them for fear of repercussions.  They always appear very knowledgable, even bordering on ass-kissing, and thrive on being the center of attention.  But don't cross them--they'll lie, cheat, and steal you into the realm of the dweebs in no time.   How to deal with the liar?  Expose them.  I'm serious.  Just make sure you have proof backing you.  Then make sure that proof is available to others.  And get ready for the fallout.
