Jon Lester Rescues the Boston Red Sox
The Boston Red Sox has to thank Jon Lester as he made a superb comeback, while at the same time rescuing them from the Mariners. Lester pitched with authority last night, which helped them beat the Mariners 4-0. Jon Lester was very strong into the eighth inning, which was when the Mariners loaded the bases on [...]

      Lester, Red Sox Blank Phillies
Coco Crisp belted a two-run homer to back seven shutout innings from Jon Lester as the Red Sox blanked the Phillies 3-0 in the middle test of a three-game set at Citizens Bank Park. Lester scattered six hits and a walk while fanning five to improve to 6-and-3 with the win. Jonathan Papelbon struck out the side in the ninth to collect his 20th save. Julio Lugo doubled in a run for Boston, which

BoSox Jon Lester Throws No Hitter
Not too long ago, Jon Lester was fighting for his life, having been diagnosed with lymphoma, a form of cancer. Today, he struck out nine, walked two and got his first no hitter and complete game.Last season, Lester had come back from cancer and won the final game of the 2007 World Series. This is the second time in history that the Kansas City Royals have been on the other side of a no hitter.Defe

Boston's Lester No-Hits Royals at Fenway
Jon Lester tossed the 18th no-hitter in Red Sox history in a 7-0 win over the Royals at Fenway Park. Lester walked two and struck out nine en route to the first complete game of his career. The 24-year-old Lester, who was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma during his rookie season in 2006, is the first pitcher this season to throw a no-hitter, and the first since teammate Clay Buchholz accomp

Boston Red Sox Jon Lester no-hitter against the Kansas City Royals
Ok, you probably heard Boston’s Red Sox threw a no-hitter vs the Kansas City Royals. How sweet it is when you do it at home in front of a screaming sell out crowd. The ninth inning began with the sell out crowd standing and cheering Lester on (lots of pressure here). Lester started out by walking German, [...]

Royals 0 - Red Sox 7: Jon Lester is 24 years old but he’s already accomplished a lot more than a lot of guys way older than him. He has beaten cancer, he pitched in the World Series clincher and now he has a no hitter on his resume. Not too bad, [...]

      Lester Holt Saves The World
Like most people, I’m waiting with bated breath for the Indiana Jones sequel.  Can’t wait to see Harrison Ford beat down some Nazi’s with his walker and bedpan.  Is it just me, or does he look older in the previews for Part 4 than Sean Connery looked in Part 3?  Look for the Metamucil and [...]

      lament for Lester
I remember well my dearest Grandpa, his crooked smile, laugh and languid wave. A young child, I did not know what he saw, or that he made a protest which was brave. Even then I’d seen, hard times fell on him, but the young me didn’t know why or how. While pursed lips grasped the cold beer bottle rim, it seemed [...]

Lester R. Brown - Plan B 3.0, Mobilising to Save Civilisation
Lester Brown's book on climate change is unlike many of the myriad of books that have been produced about the subject. His book is geared towards the international strategies that are needed to tackle the problem - or at least limiting emissions so that global temperatures do not rise about the 2 degree mark, and runaway climate change becomes inevitable. Of course to do this, Brown has to set

Plan B 3.0 by Lester Brown is out
I posted on Plan B 2.0 by Lester Brown over a year ago, and now 3.0 is out. I haven't had a chance to read it yet, but this series of books tends to be the best guide out there for focusing on solutions, and they're freely available. And as Janet Larsen of the Earth Policy Institute states in her interview with Celsius, the solutions are already technologically possible, and in most cases already in action somewhere around the globe, now it's just a matter of spread, and speed of spread. This is important to remember, because I often hear from my friends and family that we need to develop more technology, don't we? No, we don't.

      Lester and Sally
I finished Lester and Sally last night. We had a bit of an incident at the end of the process. As doll makers know, we spray the faces at the end to set the colours on their faces. Lester and Sally panicked and tried to make a run for it.... Luckily they had nothing to grab onto in order the lower themselves down to the ground and to jump was just to dangerous so they just laid there hoping I

      Lester Levenson's Story
As many of you know, I often quote the work of Lester Levenson. Lester was a physicist, given just a couple of weeks to live at the age of 42. He went on to become arguably the greatest American spiritual master of all time - and went on to live to the grand age of 84. Today, I invite you to download his autobiography for free. You can grab it by clicking here. To learn more about Lester,

      Abstract Photographer Lester Hayes
Almost 100 years old, Lester Hayes was a pioneer of Abstract Photography. He took photographs of ordinary things, using a sheet of mylar plastic shimmering in the breeze, to produce stunning images, and he did it all with the brand new Kodak Instamatic. Kodak awarded his ingenuity with a major one man exhibition in New York City, but became disinchanted when Hayes discovered a tiny flaw in the camera that ultimately contributed to its demise

Lester Makes Triumpahnt Return Bo-Sox Beat Tribe 6-2
Right now it seems sometimes that I am writing for the Police Blotter rather than about Sports. With NFL quarterbacks being indicted on dog fighting charges, and NBA referees being investigated on possibly "fixing" games, it is a pleasant change when I can write a story that makes us feel good. Boston Red Sox starter Jon Lester made a triumphant return to the Major Leagues Monday night almost a year after being diagnosed with cancer and went six innings scattering just five hits and two runs and defeated the Cleveland Indians 6-2. Lester's parents made the trip to Cleveland to watch their son's 2007 MLB debut, and they got to see a great performance. Lester kept the Indians off balance for most of the game, in spite of the fact that the Indians have one of the best home records in the Majors this season. Former Indian Coco Crisp was the Boston offensive catalyst going 4-5 and scoring three runs. Jake Westbrook took the loss for Cleveland.© Copyright thesackattack.com 2007

Lester Gets Monday Start For Bo-Sox
Boston Red Sox starter Jon Lester will make his Major League debut for the 2007 season on Monday night as he will get start at Jacobs Field in Cleveland facing the Indians. Lester will be making his first MLB start since being diagnosed with lymphoma in August of last year cutting short his rookie season. The strain of cancer he has is said to be highly treatable, and although he started the year on the disabled list he was activated back on June 11 and was assigned to the minors. Lester will take the start for former Indian pitcher Julian Tavarez. Lester said on Sunday that it hadn't really sunk in the fact that he was making his first Major League start Monday, but assumes it will be an emotional moment when it occurs. Lester went 7-2 last year for the Red Sox before being diagnosed with cancer. © Copyright thesackattack.com 2007

      Alfa Romeo Brera By Lester
Alfa Romeo Brera is a beautiful car, no question about it. And the folks at Lester made sure it gets even better. The body kit by Lester personalizes its frontal with changes to the air intake, to the inferior grill, with an overturned trapezoid shape, besides new elements, like the sculpted profiles of the new bumper. The rear part becomes more aggressive, with the adoption of a rear apron and of an aerodynamic spoiler which intensifies the sporty inclination of the car. Click for more pics. (more…)

In The Field, with Paul Lester.
I pulled up to the International House Of Pancakes yesterday morning, and immediately from that smile he gave, I knew that Paul Lester was tuned in and ready for the day ahead! Paul is a software developer from Charlotte, North Carolina and a avid nature photographer. It has been said many times before, that nature photographers are a easy going group of people, and without a doubt, … Paul fits that bill! We both chowed down, hopped in the cars, and Paul followed me a few miles down the road to the Clemson Sandhill Research & Education Center to start our day of photography. The recent cool spell in our weather seemed to have put nature on hold just a bit, as I noticed that there were not as many birds, mammals, insects, or even some of the flora seemed to have put on the brakes. Still, we went on, as nature always has something to show you, and much of it we just had to slow down and tune ourselves into it. “Paul Lester” At the Clemson Research Center we manag

      Lester on Happiness
In terms of spiritual development, I'll admit... I've been around the block a bit. In fact, I'd question anyone who claims to have reached any level of development, who hasn't been "around the houses," as we'd say in the UK. We all need to find our base. And for me, one highly inspirational individual has been the late American spiritual master, Lester Levenson. So much so that I even created
