I was really pumped for the release of the ultimate Led Zeppelin offering, but got frustrated when I had to pull out the Cd’s from the sleeves. They should include pliers with the packaging. Snug like you would not believe, I am more afraid they will get scratched than anything. Either way the sound is out of this world.
It is still completely unofficial, but it has been strongly suggested that the idea of a 2008 Led Zeppelin reunion tour is finally in the works.
Ian Astbury, lead singer of The Cult revealed during a recent gig that the band have been asked to support Led Zeppelin in their 2008 tour. He is reported to have said: "We'll be back next year, because we're opening for a band you may have heard of. The name starts with an 'L' and has a 'Z' in it."
A fan in the audience shouted "Led Zeppelin?" to which the singer nodded, confirming his suspicions.
We are still awaiting official confirmation on a tour from the band's management, so stay tuned for the latest info.
Zeppelin's spokesperson added that no decision has been made on any Led Zeppelin tour and the band is simply focusing on its appearance at the Ahmet Ertegun tribute concert in London on December 10; a Cult spokesperson declined to answer questions about Astbury's comment. “Stairway to Heaven” is clearly the best known and most popular Led Zeppelin song. It is probably the deepest song Led Zeppelin wrote, as well as one of the most controversial songs in history as to its exact meaning.
Although it is one of the most, if not the most, popular rock ballad song ever, it was never released as a single because of its length, which Led Zeppelin refused to shorten. In spite of this, the 40-year-old “Stairway to Heaven” is still the most requested and most played song on FM radio stations in the United States.
The song’s instrumentals were written by guitarist Jimmy Page and vocalist Robert Plant “over a long period, the first part coming at Bron-Yr-Aur one night”. (Bron-Yr-Aur was Robert Plant’s family 18th century “holiday” cottage in Wales where band members often went there after grueling concert tours.)
The opening guitar cadence took influence from a song called ‘Taurus’ by the band &lsq

Jimmy page from Led Zeppelin has hinted that the band is to record some new tracks, this is great news for the fans and if we are lucky they might play one or two new tracks at London’s 02 Arena next month, which is when the band starts their reunion concert. Music News has reported that John Paul Jones from the band has also said that the band has not ruled out further plans.
However I cannot see Led Zeppelin being able to play any new tracks in time for the O2 concert in London next month, as the band has been apart for some time now and it will take time for the band to get their act together as all of their time will be taken up by gig rehearsals.
But either way the news that they could be recording new tracks is great for all you Zeppelin fans out there.

I thought I would mention this due to the fact that this blog has a small music base. Led Zeppelin, the legendary and one of the most influential (next to The Beatles, Elvis, etc.) rock bands in history will be reuniting for what might be one night only. The 3 living members will perform, Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, and John Paul Jones, along with Jason Bonham (John Bonham's Son) on the drums. Along side a few other classic rock guys, they will perform to tribute to the recently deceased Ahmet Ertegun, the founder of Atlantic Records. Very cool stuff, this is huge. Ieri proprio leggevo che oggi sarebbe stata confermata questa notizia. Poco fà, ne ho avuto la certezza leggendo il blog di oRiOn. I Led Zeppelin torneranno insieme, per un solo concerto, il 26 novembre a Londra.
Il biglietto costerà 125 sterline (circa 254 dollari), e ci saranno tutti i membri ancora vivi ( Page, Plant, Jones ) più il figlio del defunto Bonham alla batteria. L’ ultima volta che erano apparsi insieme, anche se solo Page e Plant, era stato nel 1985 al Live Aid.
A me sinceramente puzza di un subdolo metodo di raggranellare qualche dollaro per la vecchiaia, dato che nessuno dei membri fondatori della leggendaria band se la passa bene. Sarà totalmente diverso rispetto ai tempi in cui hanno rivoluzionato la musica mondiale, circa 30 e più anni fà, tanto è cambiato da allora, in primis la voce di Plant : sentendolo al Live Aid non sembrava quasi lui.
Accolgo questa notizia quasi con dispiacere, anche se dovrebbe essere il contrario : sarebbe stato meglio lasciar

Rumours are flying around about a possible Led Zeppelin reunion at the end of this year. It’s widely reported that there have been press adverts in recent days offering ticket and hotel packages for fans to see the band at the O2, formerly the Millenium Dome.
Whilst the dates haven’t been officially announced, promoter Harvey Goldsmith hasn’t denied it either.
It’s widely believed that the band will play the capital on Friday 16th November, just four days after their greatest hits album Mothership is launched. It’s also expected that the band will play dates in New York, and on the west coast of the USA.
The line-up will be most likely Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones with Bonham’s son Jason expected to be announced as the drummer for the show.
As ever, I guess the news is “watch this space”.
