Fighting Continues With Militants In Lebanese Refugee Camp
6/3/2007 6:23:01 AM Sunday,Lebanese troops continued shelling the Palestinian refugee camp in Northern Lebanon targeting militant-hideouts deep within the camp, according to reports. The Lebanese troops may have made significant inroads into the refugee camp, as evidenced by the artillery shelling and smoke arising from within the camp. In previous attacks the army often targeted outer areas of Nahr el-Bared camp in their bid to make progress. The militants are believed to have been forced to the southern part of the camp after fierce fighting with troops in the north and east. Lebanese sources said a top Fatah Islam militant Naim Deeb Ghali was killed, however no official confirmation was available with the ban on media in place. On Saturday, four soldiers were killed and 10 others injured in the fighting that ensued between government troops and militants. The Lebanese troops used air power, firing at least 2 missiles at suspected positions in an attempt to cut off fighters fleeing th

Hezbollah attempting to bring down Lebanese government (Democrats win - Result)
DEBKAfile Exclusive: Siniora’s Lebanese government breaks up, faces street disturbances after national unity talks collapse Saturday Five pro-Syrian Hizballah and Amal ministers walked out of Fouad Siniora’s government coalition Saturday, Nov. 11. Another two ministers, supporters of the pro-Syrian president Emil Lahoud, are on their way out, taking with them the government’s parliamentary majority. The two Shiite factions and the pro-Syrian Maronite leader Michel Aoun say their followers will take to the streets as of Sunday for demonstrations in Beirut and other Lebanese towns. It would only take a few shots, say DEBKAfile’s Middle East sources, to spark clashes between Syria’s adherents and opponents in Lebanon. The crisis erupted when Siniora proposed convening the cabinet Monday, Nov. 13, to approve a bill for a special court to try suspects in the Feb. 2005 Hariri assassination. Lebanese political rhetoric
With each day the political rhetoric in Lebanon reach new heights of stupidity, absurdity and narcissism... I am here talking about ALL the Lebanese politicians, their statements are only old regurgitated speeches that can be summarized in a sentence: "they started it, they are wrong, we are right!” Is anybody giving an alternative, offering a new plan of action? No, on one side a fierce power grabbing campaign is waged and on the other side a fiercer defensive action is taken. What is funny among all these statements and counter statements, and the respective demonstrations and counter demonstrations, are the PR campaigns waged before each to convince the populace that these upcoming statements will be earth shattering, mind boggling and future changing announcements. And each time we get the same awful bland speeches… But the sad fact about all this mess is that each leader's loyal followers are totally convinced by these divine revelations and regurgitate the same argument

Lebanese army deploys air power at camp
TRIPOLI, Lebanon - A missile-firing helicopter joined the Lebanese army offensive against al-Qaida-inspired militants on Saturday, the second day of a push against Islamic fighters vowing a fight to the death inside a Palestinian refugee camp. Buying agent in yiwu gas detector ADVERTISEMENT Army tanks shelled militant hideouts in the Nahr el-Bared camp by this northern port city, blasting upper floors of buildings where the militants placed snipers. A Lebanese air force helicopter fired two missiles and strafed militant positions in the first use of airpower since fighting began with the Fatah Islam group on May 20. The air attack was an apparent attempt to block an escape route to the Mediterranean Sea. Four soldiers were killed and 10 wounded Saturday in the offensive aimed at uprooting al-Qaida-inspired gunmen barricaded in the refugee camp. The casualties raised the army's deaths to 38 in two weeks. At least 20 civilians and about 60 militants were killed by Friday, but casu
