Since Lawrence Yun took over as Chief Economist at NAR, he's been slowly, but surely chipping away at the thick wall his predecessor, David Lereah put up while he was in office. It seems Yun's efforts to bring some credibility to the NAR Chief Economist position through his own efforts may be working. Yun is earning credibility and respect, something Lereah didn't do so well. Just check out some of the love that even NAR's harshest critiques are giving Yun...

Lawrence Jackson (USC) #28 To The Seahawks
Seattle Seahawks#28 Overall (Acquired from Dallas)Lawrence Jackson (DE) USCThe Seahawks were in a position to take the best player on the board and it would seem like they reached here. They did trade back 3 picks, gaining 5th and 7th round picks this year. Most mock drafts had them going with a RB or TE here and I feel they have a fairly pressing need at WR as well. This could've been the perfect spot for Devin Thomas to come off of the board. If they wanted to go with a DE, Phillip Merling is still on the board and would've represented better value.

I think so. Will I be reading any more D H Lawrence in a hurry? I don't think so.I have very different feelings about various aspects of this book, so I'll deal with them separately. The story.I rather enjoyed this. It is melancholy, a story of how people can end up in situations where they feel trapped and unfitted for the world they are in. There is the literal unfitness of Clifford, the crippled husband of Constance, unhappy, unfulfilled, flitting between jealousy of his wife and acceptance that she should be with other men. T

A man who worked at WZUP, an urban talk radio station in Detroit, Michigan for the first half of the series and the local cable-access TV station, Channel 51, for the second half until the series' end. His girlfriend (and later, his wife) was Gina Waters played by Tisha Campbell who's an advertising executive who could, on an occasion, be as egotistical and badly behaved as Martin, but otherwise preserved a persistent degree head. MANI SHARMA is certainly one of the HIT makers of the Telugu film industry. And he has been hugely instrumental in the success of CHIRUTHAs AUDIO. So, has it been all glory and praise for MANI? Well, industry insiders beg to differ on the issue. In fact if we were to believe them, Mani has been humiliated by the CHOREOGRAPHER - DIRECTOR - MUSIC DIRECTOR... LAWRENCE.Though Mani is not keen on disclosing his name, he says he is the one who had choreographed the first song in Chirutha. According to Mani, the choreographer was the only one to say NO to the song, despite the producer, director and hero liking it. As per the CHOREOGRAPHER, it was not a song fit enough for the debut of Chiranjeevi’s son Ram Charan. However, popular opinion prevailed and it was Mani’s version that was shot finally. An obviously irritated Mani Sharma feels that in a creative field, it is very important for each person to stick to his or her role, instead of meddling with other technician's work.I would say

Lawrence has a sentiment with respect to shooting his films. He appears to be not leaving Kukatpally Housing Board Colony for shooting key scenes. When he directed the film ‘Mass’ he used the place to shoot a temple scene. Now the introduction scene of ‘Don’ was shot at apartments opposite JNTU in Kukatpally Housing Board area. Sentiments are very personal and Lawrence is the one who appears to be very sentimental with places. He has seen success with Nagarjuna by ‘Mass’. Now will he find the same success with Nag again by ‘Don? That has to be seen.

      FLORENCE: SAINT LAWRENCE FESTIVITY
Like every year on 10th August, in quarter San Lorenzo in Florence, took place the celebration in honor of Saint Lawrence and the Church of which he is also a patron. The procession, that here we show with some pictures, paraded on the streets in the city center to the Basilica of San Lorenzo (Saint Lawrence), the most antique in the city. Loved through the centuries, by Lords and poor people, the Church was consecrated in 393 from Saint Ambrose. The Church became famous thanks to Medici family who created there their own mausoleum ( Cappelle Medicee, in reality are the part of the monumental complex of San Lorenzo). The festivity in the honor of the Saint, prince of martyr, has antique traditions: on 10th August, apart from costume procession (which takes place also nowadays on the day of San Lorenzo), there was also horse Palio, from Porta San Gallo to Borgo San Lorenzo and during the celebration Mass memorabilia of the Saint were exposed. Steelers Sign 1st Round Pick Lawrence Timmons
Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that the Pittsburgh Steelers have signed their first-round pick LB Lawrence Timmons out of Florida State to a five-year contract. The report states that Timmons will receive slightly less than $12 million in base pay and up to $15 million, including incentives. He will also receive various guaranteed bonuses of $8,053,000 that includes signing and roster bonuses throughout his five-year deal. Why does this play a factor into the Jets? Timmons was selected 15th overall by the Jets in the NFL Draft in April, just one spot later than the Jets selected cornerback Darrelle Revis. Having Timmons signed pretty much introduces you to what kind of offer the Jets and Revis will discuss. With that said, expect Revis to get a contract very similar with a bit more numbers due to his pick selection. …For what it’s worth, last year’s pick at #14 overall was defensive tackle Broderick Bunkley by the Philadelphia Eagles and signed

A Brief History of the Double Bass by Lawrence Hurst
While poking around online recently, I found an older article from Indiana University bass professor and Contrabass Conversations guest Lawrence Hurst: The modern double bass is not a true member of either the violin or viol families. Most likely its first general shape was that of a violone, the largest member of the viol family. Some of the earliest basses extant are violones, (including C-shaped sound holes) that have been fitted with modern trappings. At the beginning of the 17th century, Michael Praetorius (1571-1621) described a violon da gamba sub-bass, a five-stringed specimen tuned DD EE AA D G. While this monster (over 8 feet tall) was tuned very much like the modern bass, it must be considered an unusual bass instrument for any era. Praetorius noted that the player of this instrument had to read the regular notation for the bass line even though the sounds he produced were actually an octave lower than what he saw, a practice that is t

      Interview with Lawrence Hurst
John Grillo and I just interviewed Indiana University double bass professor Lawrence Hurst last night for Contrabass Conversations. This interview was both a thrill and an honor for me to do, and it is an example of the amazing possibilities that podcasting provides for sharing, educating, and entertaining the global double bass community.I know that bass players from all walks of life will really get a lot out of this interview, and I look forward to hearing from listeners after this interview is released. I will be putting out the first part of our conversation with Mr. Hurst next weekend. It was great to do this interview wit John Grillo as co-host. John studied at Indiana University with Mr. Hurst for his undergraduate degree, and as a result John had a unique and different set of questions that I would not have had the forethought to ask. I think that listeners will really enjoy the dynamic between the three of us on this episode. What a great opportunity and pleasure it was t

Lawrence Kasdan to Pen ‘Titans’ Remake
The screenwriting legend behind The Empire Strikes Back will script the planned Clash of the Titans remake. Lawrence Kasdan has been hired to pen the screenplay for the Warner Brothers Clash of the Titans remake, according to The Hollywood Reporter. A remake of the 1981 cult classic, Titans revolves around Zeus’ son, Perseus, and his journey to save Princess Andromeda during which he must complete various tasks set out by Zeus, including capturing Pegasus and slaying Medusa. The original was the last film for which stop-motion animator Ray Harryhausen contributed his groundbreaking special effects. The Oscar-nominated Kasdan is the writer behind such classic films as Return of the Jedi, Raiders of the Lost, and The Big Chill, but it’s his script for The Empire Strikes Back that still resonates with fans. Kasdan penned 2003’s Dreamcatcher, based on the Stephen King story, and has since written, directed, and produced non-fantasy fare such as Mumford and Grand Canyon

      lawrence dennis: black facist?
dennis was one of the most well-known members of the american pro-facist movement in the 30s and 40s, and often argued that the germans should treat the jews like americans treated blacks. why i am mentioning dennis? well, a new book has come out with a bit of a bombshell about dennis: he was black. dennis "passed" as white while advocating pro-hitler/mussolini policies and associating with arch-segregationists of the day in the states. a great article on the new book and dennis's life can be found here.

      Lawrence Welk 8 Track
I found this 8 track sitting in a parking lot and tried to walk away from it. I got to my destination and felt uneasy. I had to go back and take a photo of this. How many times do you see a Lawrence Welk Greatest Hits 8 Track tape laying in a parking lot? Well here it is.For those of you that stop by this blog: Does it bother you that I have only one post on the main page? Is it a difficult task to hit the button at the top to view "previous posts"? Just wanted to know if I should consider changing the format. Have a great weekend!

Lawrence v. Texas: Liberty becomes license
When moral liberty is detached from the Natural Law and the Eternal Divine Law, it soon degenerates into license. It was Pope Leo XIII, in his Encyclical Letter Libertas Humana, who reminded us that:"Liberty, the highest of natural endowments, being the portion only of intellectual or rational natures, confers on man this dignity - that he is 'in the hand of his counsel' and has power over his actions. But the manner in which such dignity is exercised is of the greatest moment, inasmuch as on the use that is made of liberty the highest good and the greatest evil alike depend. Man, indeed, is free to obey his reason, to seek moral good, and to strive unswervingly after his last end. Yet he is free also to turn aside to all other things; and, in pursuing the empty substance of good, to disturb rightful order and to fall headlong into the destruction which he has voluntarily chosen...Therefore, the nature of human liberty, however it be considered, whether in individuals or in society,

Fr. Lawrence G. Lovasik and false pretense
In his excellent book entitled, "The Hidden Power of Kindness," in a chapter entitled "Dedicate yourself to truth," Fr. Lawrence G. Lovasik explains that:"False pretense is a form of lying. You are guilty of this fault if you make yourself out to be something you are not in order to impress others, to appear important, and to be admired. This is a form of vanity. You either exaggerate your standing or accomplishments or make up facts about yourself that will impress others....You practice religious hypocrisy when you pretend to be a very pious and sincere Catholic, yet privately embrace some form of moral evil like adultery, birth control, or corruption in business or politics...You practice social hypocrisy when you worm your way into the confidence of another, act as if you are solely concerned with giving sympathy and advice, draw out secrets of a personal nature, and then use the information to hurt the one whose confidence you have gained; or when you petend to be unselfishly inte
