The military junta is being blamed for poorly managing the response effort after Cyclone Nargis. Junta refers to Burma's government by a board of military leaders. Junta is a word that is not exclusive to Burma and has been applied to other governments in other countries. Laura Bush condemned the junta’s response after Cyclone Nargis had passed as being “inept.” Her husband, President George W. Bush’s response was clumsy and showed no skill or leadership after Hurricane Katrina therefore President George W. Bush’s response could be called inept too.
