      Free Tide Laundry Detergent
I’m not sure how this free Tide laundry detergent will help me get out of a traffic ticket for having expired license plates, but I need to figure out a way. Maybe I can tell the judge that I didn’t renew them since I accidentally left the notice in my pants and washed them. Any [...]

Construction noise? Here, have some laundry detergent!
Update: March 7, 2008 @ 2:08pmNow that's fast. Last night I got home and the building across the road is completely leveled. That's not bad for around two days of work. The lot will probably be completely clear by the time I get home tonight._______________________________The folks across from my apartment are basically doing what a lot of building owners are doing. They're ripping down the old brick structure and rebuilding it. I noticed this trend a few months ago when fliers were being left on all the little villas in my neighborhood. Now in Korea a villa isn't a plush estate like the ones you'll find the south of France. Instead they're two story apartments usually with a basement unit too. Here is a shot of the old and new side-by-side:As I said, this is happening all over my n

      Free Purex Laundry Detergent
Wal Mart is giving away some free Purex laundry detergent, so make sure you sign up for some before this goes dead in approximately 19 seconds. Ok, maybe it’ll last a little bit longer, but geez if it doesn’t seem like these Wal Mart offers have been dying especially fast lately! The freebie itself claims to be environmental-friendly, which seems a bit oxymoronic to me when you consider all the power it takes to run the washing machines that will be using this stuff. That’s like me saying I’ve created a car built out of 100% natural products and then taking it down to the local gas station and filling up. But that doesn’t mean I’m going to start doing my laundry by hand or anything. If there’s one thing I enjoy about technology, it’s how it allows me to spend my time and energy doing things I love to do, like hunting for freebies! [via the forums] Share This

Free 2x Ultra Tide Laundry Detergent
EDIT: You might need to right click on the link below and select “copy link.” Then paste it into your browser and it should work. I’m not even going to bother commenting on the whole “2x” in the product name of this free Ultra Tide laundry detergent. You all know by now that I think stuff like that is entirely stupid and unnecessary. But had I found this freebie a month ago, I probably wouldn’t have cared. For when I got home from my vacation, I smelled worse than a horse stable. In my effort to pack lightly, I brought enough clothes for about 5 days. For a 15 day trip. With lot’s of walking, sweating, and drinking involved. It’s amazing that by the end of the trip, I was able to be seated in a restaurant. I’m pretty sure US Customs tried quarantining me on suspicion that I was highly contagious with the ebola virus. [via the forums Share This

How Toxic is Your Average Laundry Detergent?
Typical laundry detergents may be imparting more on your clothing than a “fresh” scent. Most contain a toxic slew of chemicals that leave residues behind on your clothing that can potentially be absorbed by your skin or evaporated into the air for you to breathe in.Most laundry detergents in your typical grocery store contain:Petroleum distillates (aka napthas), which have been linked to cancerPhenols, which can cause toxicity throughout the entire bodyArtificial fragrances, which have been linked to various toxic effects on fish and mammalsPhosphates, which stimulate the growth of certain marine plants when they’re released into the environment and contribute to unbalanced ecosystemsOptical brighteners, which can be toxic to fish and can cause bacterial mutations and allergic reactionsIf you pay attention to labels, you’ll find that many household products -- from lipstick to paint to shampoo -- contain potentially toxic chemicals. Over time, these toxins can build up in your

Forever New - Laundry Detergent That Makes A Difference
With Forever New Fabric Wash, that perfect bra, panty, shirt or dress won’t fade or change shape after one wash or after one hundred. This environmentally friendly soap is biodegradable and phosphate-free! Forever New laundry soap will replace your "old school" Woolite. Woolite is commonly used in a daily wash, or for delicates, but you should really know that the myth of its being "delicate" is simply that - a myth. In the 1950’s when it came out, it was better on clothes than other products, but today's new fabrics and chemicals make Woolite obsolete. Unlike Woolite, Forever New laundry soap won’t strip your clothing of its fibers, leaving them looking new. In addition to laundry soap, Forever New makes a fantastic stain remover. Forever New Stain Remedy works magic on stains prior to washing with Forever New fabric

Sierra Club Seeks to Ban Ingredients in Laundry Detergent
The Sierra Club asked the federal government today to ban a toxic chemical that is found in laundry detergents. The Sierra Club believes that this chemical causes harm to male fish and their reproductive capabilities. The Environmental News Network writes Scientists have documented so-called intersex fish in U.S. waters in the last decade, including the southern Great Lakes, the Potomac River watershed and the Southern California coast. The reasons for the problem aren’t fully known, but researchers suspect it is rooted in wastewater and farm runoff polluted with chemicals that are estrogenic, meaning they stimulate estrogen production. NPEs [nonylphenol ethoxylates] are one of them. NPEs are not tightly restricted in the United States and the Sierra Club believes that this lack of regulation surrounding the chemical and its use can — and should — be directly linked to these abnormalities. More scientific research is needed before this link can be conclusive, however
