As you know, the project that I am working on, which releases March 17, 2008, makes use of DokuWiki. I have known for a bit that I need to find a way to embed Google Maps into individual pages. Well I found it, the only problem is that the plugin requires latitude and longitudes… which Google Maps does not give you… hmm, thats a problem!!! After a little searching around I discovered the solution to the problem. As it turns out, Google Maps center on the address you search, making the latitude and longitude the center of the map. Thats all fine and good but it still is not displayed anywhere!!! There a solution to that problem as well, once you get your map displayed simply enter “javascript:void(prompt(”,gApplication.getMap().getCenter()));” into the browser URL field and press enter. I have been tracking closings at Latitude on the River for the past couple of months. As of two days ago, Latitude on the River has been able to close 275 of their 455 total units. The closed units represent roughly 60 percent of the overall building. Closings are usually recorded within one week but can sometimes take 2-3 weeks before they are finally recorded.
The 60 percent may not seem like very much given that closings began July 27 of this year. However, Latitude on the River has had a higher closing percentage than other developments that began closings earlier than them such as Onyx on the Bay, Star Lofts on the Bay, 2 Midtown and Ten Museum Park.
The majority of closings at Latitude on the River occurred within the first four weeks. In fact, about 66 percent of their total closings occurred within those first 28 days. Closings have not completely tapered off, however. With the exception of the tenth week, they have been able to close over 10 units per week. The tenth

Last Monday I visited Latitude on the River with two sets of clients. The picture slideshow below will show everybody what we saw during our tour of Latitude on the River. You will also see some pictures of a 2 bedroom/2.5 bath condo on the 36th floor that we visited.
Everyone was very impressed with the lobby at Latitude on the River. In fact, all of the common areas were impressive, especially given the price point of the building.
Latitude on the River offers a lot of amenities for residents to enjoy. I have a feeling that Latitude on the River is going to be a very social building.
Anyone else get a chance to visit the building yet? If so, I’d love to hear what you thought. For those of you who haven’t, any comments on the pictures?
Here’s a great opportunity two own a spacious 2 bedroom condo at Latitude on the River on a very high floor. This 2 bedroom/2.5 bath is located one floor below the lower-Penthouse level and is located on the southeast corner of the building. You will have fabulous views of Biscayne Bay to the south. Today Dell's Business Product Group General Manager Jeff Clarke confirmed that the company will be kicking a Latitude tablet soon. Even Engadget managed to get a pic and some info on it's specifications. In a video posted on Direct2Dell, Jeff mentioned that the tablet is designed specifically for education/heathcare/corporate sector and is 'one of the lightest weight convertible tablet in the market place.' A gentleman contacted me late last week who has three preconstruction units under contract at various developments in Miami and Miami Beach. The picture above shows Latitude on the River and Latitude One. Latitude on the River is a residential condominium building comprised of 427 units on 44 floors while Latitude One is a a condo office building made up of 217,000 square feet spread across 22 floors. Latitude on the River is located along the Miami River directly west of Neo Vertika at 615 SW 2 Avenue.
Many local Miamians have expressed an interest to me in acquiring a condo at Latitude on the River because the pricing is attractive and because the neighborhood has come a long way since sales initially began. It is difficult not to take notice of Latitude on the River while driving down the southern end of I-95 as it towers over all surrounding buildings. Have you ever used the Google Maps API and found out that you don’t really know the right position where to place the markers? As you know, to do so requires entering in javascript the exact marker’s coordinates, so you go in a trial-and-error loop to try to correct the numbers until you find the right spot, browse for various so called google maps builders hoping that one of them actually gives you the coordinates you need to nail the right place, or modify your code so that outputs in some way the coordinates, find the marker’s position, jot it down, then restore the old script and add the numbers.
During this phase the client calls saying the marker isn’t in the right place, it’s “more to the sea”, or “a bit more to the left”. You also have the problem that modifying the javascript code makes the map go into the debug mode (outputting coordinates) as long as the right numbers have been found out, even web site readers see them.

Google Maps do no display latitude and longitude values, but there is an easy trick to get these numbers. This technique will provide the latitude and longitude coordinates of the center of the map displayed by Google Maps.Looking up an address in Google Maps will center the map on that address if it was found. Because this trick provides the latitude and longitude of the center of the map, moving the map around manually after that will change the center position and this technique will not work accurately.When the location you want is in the center of the map, copy and paste this code into the location bar of your browser and press enter:javascript:void(prompt('',gApplication.getMap().getCenter()));A little dialog box will pop up displaying the coordinates which can be copied and pasted for use elsewhere. This code can be bookmarked and then used in the future by selecting the bookmark.
This is a great ingenius way to find latitude and longitude values for any location using Google Maps. You'll first need to look up an address (duh), but this trick only works if the address is centered (it's centered by default). So, moving the map around will not make this work. When the address you want to find latitude and longitude for is dead center, copy and paste this code into your browser bar: javascript:void(prompt('',gApplication.getMap().getCenter())); You'll get a popup with the coordinates. How cool is that, I ask you!
I recently wrote about my search for a new laptop to aid my studies in becoming a CFP. Well, I found a great deal on a Dell C400 Latitude off Craigslist. While it’s not brand-new, it does what I need it to do and it does it in an ultraportable, ultralight, ultrafast way!

You’ll notice I didn’t mention a DVD/CD drive, but that’s because it didn’t come with one! Being an ultraportable laptop, it doesn’t have space in its chassis for an optical drive, although this does keep the weight down. The kicker is that without an external optical drive connected to the proprietary Dell Media Port, I can’t re-install an operating system because none of the other ports (including the USB) are bootable!
