In early 2006, at APAN meeting, Yves Poppe has pointed three (early) transoceanic lambda providers (Yes, it's lambda, not just sub-wavelength capacity): Global Crossing, Level 3 and Tyco (now Tata). Currently, it shall be more than three of course. The interesting point is that demands for lambda services were initially coming from Research and Education (R&E) networking sector - in early 2000
Lambda is a ratio denoting the change occurring in the price of an option as compared to a 1% change the volatility of the option.
In other words, this is nothing but a partial derivative of an option’s price as compared to its volatility. Kappa, Vega and sigma are the synonyms for Lambda.

Why not? Cadillac's breakout hit began life as a gussied-up Chevy Tahoe. How big a hit? Word is that Cadillac paid off tooling for the current Escalade just three months after it went on sale. And that's why the division can consider a new SUV -- okay, a crossover SUV -- just as it's putting the big DT7 DTS/STS sedan convergence on ice for a year.The fact that the Lambda platform already is over-s
Originally a Greek letter chosen to represent a campaign for gay liberation that has gone onto become an international symbol of gay/lesbian rights. The lambda represents energy in physics and is also symbolic of the power and energy of the gay rights movement. Others suggest the symbol is reflectant of the fact that Queer people operate on a different "wavelength". It is now seen as a symbol o
Suppose that we have a conditional statement:In Python, we can write it in three ways:
1
f = lambda x: x > 2 and (x + 1) or 0
or

f = lambda x: 0 if x <= 2 else (x + 1)
or
1
f = lambda x: [x + 1, 0][x <= 2]

Let say that we have a conditional statement:In Python, we can write it in three ways:>>> f = lambda x: x > 2 and (x + 1) or 0or>>> f = lambda x: 0 if x <= 2 else (x + 1)or>>> f = lambda x: [x + 1, 0][x<=2]However, if the number of conditions if more than 2, it is best to use the first method.For example, consider this conditional statement:The Python code is like below:>>> f = lambda x: (x>=5 and x+1) or ( (x < 5 and x > 2) and 3) or 0We read it as:if x >= 5, f(x) = x + 1else, if x > 2 and x
Now I pretty much love Pi Lambda Phi as well. However. Best guess? The faces on these two girls are hideous. Well done EJB for screening that stuff from whatever monsters sent you these pictures. But you see folks, that’s why the imagination is so wonderful. There’s definitely a guy out there picturing his favorite baseball stars face on one of these bodies (as disturbing as that is). Me? I’m picturing my girlfriend. Awwww. Hahahahahaha. Come on!
Is anyone surprised that the TrailBlazer is still part of the Chevrolet line-up for this year? We are, as the car has dwindled quickly and most of its siblings have already departed. The Detroit News is reporting that the TrailBlazer will be canned by 2010 and a new crossover will replace the old-timer as early as next year.The new Chevrolet crossover will sit on GM's successful Lambda platform which underpins the Saturn Outlook, GMC Acadia (pictured) and the Buick Enclave. All three of the crossovers are doing exceedingly well and Buick has had waiting lists on its Enclave, something that was hardly noticed in Buick dealerships for a long time. The crossovers accounted for 4% of GM's overall sales last month. Motor Authority is reporting that the new bow-tie crossover will be named the Traverse.The new crossover will be assembled in GM's Spring Hill, Tennessee plant.[Source: Motor Authority]
Went to Tim Gunn's book signing at Lambda Rising in DC this morning. He came in and spoke for a few minutes and then fielded questions from those who came for about 15 minutes or so. Most questions were about the show, with a few about his new job. A good number of people came, but it was hard to judge how many because of cramped quarters. I got Tim to sign my book and my Daniel Vosovic shirt with Tim's face on it. He was very pleasent and exactly as he is on the show. I've attached the photo. Thanks Rob!
