Pearl Street Beach - Laguna Beach
I had to drop off a couple pictures at a gallery yesterday, so I decided to cruise up PCH and explore some new areas by turning into any random street I haven't been down before. After turning down one street, I continued on until I found a parking place, and ended up on Pearl Street in Laguna Beach. Awesome beach! There was a huge rock formation with a pass-thru in the center. The other side of the formation was gorgeous, and the ocean was rough, which made for beautiful sea spray. I was shooting with two different kinds of film cameras yesterday, so I don't have the majority of my pictures yet, but I did take some with my trusty pocket digital camera. As I was standing there, once again a familiar thought came to mind: I live in the most exquisitely beautiful place in the world. Here are

      Laguna Beach: immunity or ridiculosity?
There is talk about the possibility of high-end immunity in real estate - that is to say, more expensive properties (usually either on the coast or in a prestigious area) can get the best of both worlds: They appreciate along with traditionally less-expensive areas during bull markets, but when the inevitable correction comes, they don't seem to fall much in value at all (or even show gains). Perhaps it's because "land is scarce," or that "there is never-ending demand for these exclusive places."This demand, some would even argue, means escalating prices of luxury homes are of little concern to those with excess cash who want to buy coastal properties and don't care how much more they have to pay for the privilege. In that scenario, these types of properties really could go up in value perpetually, assuming more people with huge cash reserves are ready to step in and continue to bid prices up.We will use Laguna Beach as a case study of what can happen to prices in a luxury market be

It was Spa day in Laguna Beach!
Today Mrs. Pooches (yes, My boss!) told me she had a surpise for me but she wouldn't tell me what it was. Not even a clue! She clutched my hand in her wrinkled claw and told me to ride with her in the Lexus. It was such a mystery. We drove into Laguna Beach and she pulled up to a Valet at a building with a sign "Fera Zo Spa". I thought maybe we were going to do a dance lesson there, you know...in the back room or something. When we got inside she told them my name and they said "Welcome to a day of Man-pampering Mr. Ben". Well, blow me away! I'd never been to a spa before. I always thought it a bit on the feminine side but my mind has been changed. First I was given a towel and lead into a huge shiny steam room with a hot tub in the center and a rippling fountain of spring water at the side. They told me to relax in there as long as I wanted.....I think I may have fallen asleep! Next, I was treated to a facial, manicure, pedicure and they saved the best for la
