It's time to don your best Bladerunner outfit and twist any trace of a smile into a thin-lipped veneer, as Ladytron are back and ready to show all the other pretenders to the Electronica throne exactly how it's done. The minimalist bleeps and squelches of ... read more!
On the new Velocifero, Ladytron continues with more of the creepily cool electro-pop it first dipped in black latex way back in 1999. They always find new ways to do it, of course. Less reverb on an icy female vocal here, more of it there; less post-punk punch in the electronic percussion, more nods to the dour dance-pop that followed it.
Ladytron is back in action with Velocifero, which drops officially this June. "There's a ghost in me that wants to say 'I'm Sorry'," goes the main line here, but it immediately folds in on itself, becoming "That doesn't mean I'm sorry."
Aquí os dejo el videoclip del primer sencillo del esperado cuarto álbum de estudio de Ladytron (Velocifero), cuyo lanzamiento se espera para el próximo 2 de junio. La canción se llama Ghosts.
Ahí va el vídeo.
Velocifero definitely sounds like Ladytron. Danceable, sad and glittering. Velocifero has some electronic elements in the sound spinning around some Gary Numan, Human League and Kraftwerk. First six tracks are nearly the most sharp Ladytron works. After, it becomes darker, and it sounds quite good....

[..] Much darker and less overtly synth pop than any of their earlier work, Witching Hour is almost unrelentingly gloomy, covering topics like the fleeting nature of relationships, destruction, and war. However, the album wears it well, conjuring a glamorous dystopia with songs like "High Rise" and "Soft Power" -- it's not often that bleakness sounds this pretty. It also helps that Witching Hour boasts some of Ladytron's finest songwriting to date, including the brilliantly melodramati
Hey, so we're halfway through now, and have been this week, recording in Studio de la Grande Armée, Paris. Every recording studio has its history, but this is a special place, with a freakish track record.Opened in 1978, it's the studio where Francoise Hardy did her albums of that era, and Duran Duran recorded their best; Rio. Sid Vicious, and his poignant take on My Way.....the tape store here is like a museum of the sublime & ridiculous..... Mick Jagger did most his awful solo records here, Murray Head recorded some tracks (though sadly not 'one night in bangkok') & Charles Aznavour seems to be playing shows every single night, upstairs in the concert hall.So when we're not distracted by the tape store, we've been working really hard, and when we're through in december we will have long holidays. Then in the spring we will have a record...*§ource: Ladytron's myspace*

Despite a three-year wait, Ladytron sounds fresher and more vital than ever on their triumphant third album, Witching Hour. While the label problems that sidelined the album's release must have been frustrating, in some ways the delay works in the band's favor: though they were momentarily (and somewhat opportunistically) lumped in with the
Third album, following 2002's 'Light And Magic', from vampiric electro-pop quartet. Adding a touch of colour and a doseof dirty guitars to their icy sound, they have stepped sideways into shoegazing territory, with some of the material being compared to My Bloody Valentine. The album has been hailed as their best yet and includes the single 'Sugar'.
PART2Second album from Ladytron, the follow-up to their debut 604, an album that sneaked out of Liverpool and quietly crept up on people everywhere-from London to Los Angeles-to become one of the most critically acclaimed and influential records of recent years. This album outshines their debut, but still keeps their killer pop instinct intact on tracks like 'Bluejeans' & 'Evil'. Emperor Norton Records. 2002.
