Haute Couturiers designing water bottles? Did I miss something? Oh well, it's way awesome anyway...The story: Evian has released a Limited Edition set of designer water bottles (which they've apparently been doing for a few years now), to show dedication to the fashion industry. To celebrate winter, Lacroix has designed this gorgeous (and expensive) Haute Couture Ice Queen bottle, and a Ready-to-Wear version with a pretty pattern weaving on the outside.I don't think they'll be coming to Australia, but even if they did they'll be following in the U.S.'s footsteps and only stocking them in high-end supermarkets. Official prices are a little iffy, but these babies are sure to pop up on eBay sooner or later, for less than what they're worth, I assume. I felt like I had to blog about these shoes because these are the strangest shoes I have ever seen! Seriously, Christian Lacroix what were you thinking (or smoking) when you let this design pass through to production? I am so scared of these shoes. It looks like an art and crafts drawer exploded on a piece of iridescent leather. So odd, so strange, so ... so destined for the sale rack. Don't you think?

Every year French water company Evian launches special edition bottles, and this year’s are quite opulent. The limited edition bottles were designed by high end fashion design house, Christian Lacroix, and feature two versions.The “prêt-à-porter” bottle features a clear, classicly shaped European water bottle decorated with a detailed, highly sophisticated white pattern. The “haute-couture” version, on the other hand, doesn’t feature any printed art. Instead, it feature intricacies in the actual bottle design, the final product resembling an elaborate ice sculpture. Only 99 couture bottles were made and will be auctioned off for charity.The prêt-à-porter model can be purchased at high end grocery stores, fancy restaurants, and at upscale hotels beginning November. Oh Lacroix shoes, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways. One, your whimsical polka-dots. Two, your red trim that provides a delicate but decidedly modern detail. Three, your 3.5″ heel that is neither too narrow, nor too chunky. Four, your semi-rounded toe, not too pointy, just enough to lend an air of vintage maturity to an otherwise playful shoe. In light of recent events concerning Christian Lacroix, like the PETA streaker and Helen Mirren wearing a gorgeous Lacroix gown to the Oscars, I decided I just had to check out what he sent down the runway for Fall 2007. At first I was a little bored. I wasn't exactly bored with the clothes, but with the color scheme, if you can call all black a true color scheme. Then all of the sudden the ultra cute minis I was seeing before began to pop. The blacks and gun metals turned to electric blues and hot pinks. It was almost as if the skies were opening up after a gray snowy day. Even after the burst of bright, Lacroix continue the electric them with a bright yellow belt over a little black dress or a hot pink bow to make the cutest black shift dress pop.I absolutely adored the graphic prints on some of the more vibrant dresses.
