According to a recent survey conducted by the e-tailing group, this holiday season more shoppers plan to do their gift buying online instead of in stores. The reasons shoppers gave for the switch included time savings, better product selection, no crowds and saving money -- in other words, convenience, value and time savings. Some Might Call Them SculptedI usually don't watch random online videos. I find them annoying. I hate the time it takes to load and the "buffering", whatever that is. Give me the written word everytime and I'm happy. However, sometimes I make an exception. Rachel brought this "recipe" to my attention. I should wait until December, but I can't...it's just too good. Kwanzaa is a holiday celebrated in the United States that celebrates African-American culture. The word "Kwanzaa†is Swahili and means "first fruitsâ€. To celebrate Kwanzaa, families decorate their households with African art, wear traditional African clothing, and display fresh fruits to represent idealism, one of the seven focus areas of Kwanzaa. Our craft today is a corn collage to decorate your house during Kwanzaa.
Here's what you need:
Yellow and green construction paper
Popped corn
Scissors
Large Popsicle sticks
White craft glue
Lime green puffy paint
Now here's what to do:
First, cut out two leaf shapes using the green construction paper. Then, cut out one corncob shape using the yellow construction paper.
Glue the yellow cob onto the green leaves so all three are attached.
Put a layer of glue on the yellow corncob and cover the glue with the popcorn. You want to cover the entire yellow cob.
To make this a three-dimensional craft, repeat the above step
Finals are over. Frosty the Snowman is a bitch. And there are less than two weeks until Kwanzaa.  Excited yet?To wrap this up, here is part three of the star wars content. It's a poem, which kind of breaks some unspoken BSD rules, but it's about star wars and love, and I know that at least Matt and the girl I wrote it for liked it.A Star Wars poem for Higgy:You shut down the trash compactors on my detention level. That is to say, you take my breath away. And maybe I just want to be your Bothan spy, Climbing in your AT-ST,Hoping we'll drive home together tonight,Back to Echo Base or Yavin IV.And it makes me smile. No, I'm not saying that you are theComforts of a Tauntaun. But you do have the warmness of one.And a certain bluish glow,Like Obi-wan on Dagobah.I'll sit and watch twin suns with you,Waiting on Tatooine.I'll make the Kessel Run to you,In less than12 parsecs with 1.21 gigawatts. And through the haze of snow and sand storms,Or the clouds of BespinI'll follow youLike

Presidential Message: Kwanzaa 2006 Holidays at the White House 2006, December 8, 2006I send greetings to those observing Kwanzaa.(High Resolution Image). During the seven days of Kwanzaa leading up to the New Year, friends and family come together in a spirit of love and joy to honor their rich African heritage, reflect on the Seven Principles, and give thanks for the blessings of freedom and opportunity. Forty years after the first Kwanzaa, this hopeful occasion remains an opportunity to build the bonds of family, community, and culture and move ever closer to the founding promise of liberty and justice for all. Our Nation is a better place because of the contributions African Americans have made to our strength and character over the generations. As you gather to celebrate your ancestry this Kwanzaa, I encourage you to take pride in your many achievements and look to the future with confidence in your abilities and faith in a brighter tomorrow. Laura and I send our best wishes for a

Picture this: Chicago, 2004. I really wanted an I-Pod and I asked my parents to give me one for Kwanzaa. They said no, it was too expensive. No biggie. Even though all my bougie Howard friends would have gotten I-Pods AND other gifts, I could buy myself one with my refund check. January 1st came and we exchanged gifts. And guess what my mother had for me? Yes, I got a crown. Along with a matching yoke and a pouch to put it all in. I unwrapped it and without saying a word, I put everything on and started doing the Miss America wave. Then I acted as if I was shooting spears at imaginary animals. My dad died laughing, but my mother was not amused.Mom: I'm not buying you shit from now on!HGH: You bought me a crown!!!Mom: I thought you could fold over to make it like a headband, and the yoke would look nice over a black turtleneck.HGH: In Zamunda.Mom: I'm not buying you shit!Good times. So now, every Kwanzaa, I put the crown on. This year, I recived a very lovely mud cloth skirt (in case
