      Disco Kryptonite.
"Jam On It (Special Remix)" - Newcleus These guys started out as Jam-On Productions in Brooklyn, New York and they grew to be phenoms because of their block party success in 1979. These block parties were held outdoors in neighborhoods and the power for the DJ's sound system was ripped off the street lights most of the time. This song has been said by many to have been way ahead of it's time in

Kaiser Kryptonite – Basic Engineering Modules!
Good news for all of you…I wont be polluting the blogosphere with my nonsense for about 4 months! I am SO totally failing my basic engineering modules (Math’s, Physics and Electricity/Electronics) that I’ve decided to drop off the face of the earth and complete focus on passing these first few modules. I mean I always knew that the SriLankan training course was comprehensive and bloody tough…but in all honesty…I was SO under prepared for this! Math’s is tough coz I’m a retard. Physics is touch coz I can’t remember all those pesky equations and electricity isn’t really my field of studies (I’m a propulsion person NOT a blooming instruments and electronics person) so I’m right royally screwed!!!I cant wait for us to start on the engine and aircraft systems modules…I f

Look Out Superman! Scientists Discover 'Kryptonite' in Serbian Mine
Scientists Discover 'Kryptonite' in Serbian MineScientists have discovered a new mineral that matches the composition of kryptonite, the mythical rock that could sap Superman's strength in comic books. The rock — named jadarite — was discovered in a mine in Jadar, Serbia, by the Rio Tinto company and identified by London's Natural History Museum.Though the white rock didn't resemble anything known to real-life man, it did match the one substance known to destroy Superman's power."The new mineral does not contain fluorine and is white rather than green, but in all other respects the chemistry matches that for the rock containing kryptonite," said Chris Stanley, the mineralogist who identified the jadarite. The mineral is sodium lithium boron silicate hydroxide, which "probably won't do Superman or us any harm whatsoever," said Mike Rumsey, a mineral curator for the museum. The scientists discovered it matched the mythical Superman substance when they entered jadarite's chemistr

      Kryptonite Found
Why Superman never visits Sarejevo.Oh, noes! Watch out, Superman!!!Kryptonite is no longer just the stuff of fiction feared by caped superheroes.A new mineral matching its unique chemistry - as described in the film Superman Returns - has been identified in a mine in Serbia.According to movie and comic-book storylines, kryptonite is supposed to sap Superman's powers whenever he is exposed to its large green crystals. The real mineral is white and harmless, says Dr Chris Stanley, a mineralogist at London's Natural History Museum."I'm afraid it's not green and it doesn't glow either - although it will react to ultraviolet light by fluorescing a pinkish-orange," he told BBC News. You just know that Lex Luthor would be on the first plane to Sarejevo.technorati tags: kryptonite, geology, Superman

      Real life Kryptonite discovered!
Well, sort of. Here's the story...A mineral found by geologists in Serbia shares virtually the same chemical composition as the fictional kryptonite from outer space, used by the superhero's nemesis Lex Luther to weaken him in the film "Superman Returns.""We will have to be careful with it -- we wouldn't want to deprive Earth of its most famous superhero!," said Dr Chris Stanley, a mineralogist at London's Natural History Museum.Stanley, who revealed the identity of the mysterious new mineral, discovered the match after searching the Internet for its chemical formula - sodium lithium boron silicate hydroxide."I was amazed to discover that same scientific name written on a case of rock containing kryptonite stolen by Lex Luther from a museum in the film Superman Returns," he said.(Thanks to my wife for pointing this out!)
