Düsseldorf, 1968 aqui começa a odisséia de dois jovens com idéias futurísticas, Ralf Hütter e Florian Schneider. Eles se conheceram num conservatório na Alemanha e, influenciados pelos sons "espaciais" do Pink Floyd formaram um grupo. No começo a idéia era fazer uma banda que tocasse com instrumentos feitos por eles mesmos, e começaram assim Dois anos depois, e um disco depois (Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider, ver discografia) eles conhecem WolfKang Flür e Klaus Roeder e formam o KRAFTWERK.1970 1º disco deles como quarteto a música eletrônica começa a surgir.
