Akon lands his second No. 1 Hot 100 hit on the album "Konvicted" as "Don't Matter" jumps 3-1 on the chart, where it is the fastest growing track at radio for a fifth week. The song follows "I Wanna Love You," which held No. 1 for two weeks in December. Another track from the album, "Smack That," peaked at No. 2 in November after making what was then the largest jump (95-7) in the history of the Hot 100.That distinction now belongs to Beyonce and Shakira's "Beautiful Liar," which rockets 94-3 thanks to digital sales of 150,000 copies. The track comes from a new edition of Beyonce's "B-Day" album, due April 3.Last week's Hot 100 No. 1, Fergie's "Glamorous," falls to No. 2, while Mims' former chart-topper "This Is Why I'm Hot" drops 2-4. Gym Class Heroes' "Cupid's Chokehold" featuring Patrick Stump is down 4-5, while Gwen Stefani's "The Sweet Escape" featuring Akon slides 5-6. Akon's 'Konvicted' Certified Double PlatinumThe RIAA has certified SRC/Universal Motown's global superstar Akon's sophomore album Konvicted, double platinum. At the same time, the trailblazing Senegalese star is gracing the cover of Vibe Magazine's April issue and is dubbed the ‘last hitmaker' by the urban tome.
