Das war der Titel eines dreitägigen Workshops in Jugendbildungszentrum in Blossin (wenn man in Berlin-Mitte steht, so ca. auf 4 Uhr). Teilnehmer waren Jugendliche zw. 14 und 23 (oder annähernd) und deren Betreuer - Jugendarbeiter. Ich durfte am Freitag- Abend (um 19.45 Uhr)… die Einführungspräsentation zum Workshop Multimedia halten. Zielsetzung war: Vom Chat und Foren über wikis und blogs hin zu MySpace und SchülerVZ… Aber wie bekommen wir die Eintrittskarten in diese Virtuelle Welt? Was kann ich dort tun, was soll ich tun? Wer sind wir, oder wer möchten wir sein, in dieser Neuen Welt? Wahrheit oder Lüge, Realname oder Nickname? Hardware oder Software? Naja, es stellte sich aber recht bald heraus das die Jugendlichen alle bei studivz und den anderen bekannten Portalen unterwegs sind. Das machte mir zumindest die Arbeit mit Ihnen leichter. It’s this time again for another installment of Kompakt’s yearly resume. ‘Total‘ is said to be the label’s most well known and anticipated annual release. The 8th eidition is a special priced 2CD album featuring over 2.5 hours of music surrounded by the classic artwork in green.

Cologne-based imprint Kompakt will release the third installment of its "Speicher" mix-CD series next week. As with the two previous installments, label boss Michael Mayer and Jörg Burger (aka The Modernist) have selected some of the finest Kompakt Extra and Speicher vinyl releases from the last two years. Mixed digitally, Speicher CD3 features cuts by artists such as Axel Bartsch, Stardiver, DJ Koze, Misc (aka Hannes Wenner & Christopher Bleckmann), Superpitcher, John Dahlback, Tom Pooks and many more. - DJ duo James Zabiela and Nic Fanciulli aka One+One will release a double CD mix compilation on Ministry Of Sound on April 2. The comp will include bespoke productions by James and Nic including two One+One collaborations, personal re-edits. The Field is Axel Willner from Stockholm. He’s made some very graceful waves with two 12-inches on Kompakt, had one of the best tracks on the latest “Pop Ambient“ compilation, and is now gearing up to release his full-length debut, “From Here We Go Sublime”. His stated respect for the work of Kompakt head Wolfgang Voigt (aka Gas, Mike Ink, Freiland) isn’t just an employee complimenting the boss’s tie; Willner’s music obviously draws from the shape-shifting ambience of Voigt’s final Gas album “Pop”, though Willner favors builds and drama over pure mood.
