Obviously the subject line was to show how the NYT tends to stereotype yet gets away with it. Liberals go on and on about the evils of stereotyping people yet not a word when such a venerable institution of *cough, cough* journalistic integrity as the New York Times engages in it. In this story they make the assumption that all conservatives are automatically against gay rights and stem cell research amongst other issues. Nothing could be further from the truth. What they should have said is the Bush administration is against stem cell research and gay rights. Many if not most conservatives are either for or as a minimum not actively against them. But the stereotypical image of a conservative is a gun toting, knuckle dragging, fag hating beer swiller. But that's not us anymore than the left are all America hating communists.
