I'm always fascinated by kinetic sculptures, which is why I like this clock by painter and sculptor George Rhodes. You tell the hours from the numbered cylinders that're picked up on that wheel, and the minutes from the pointer arm. It strikes the hours when the cylinder rolls down the track and hits a bell. We all know the need to look for alternative sources of energy today. The current supply and resources are simply not enough. While we hear about solar and wind energy in the works. Focusing on the current crop of energy resources, known and developed according to the people who are aiming to provide the necessary sources today, there is room for other sources and this is perhaps where kinetic energy can serve best.
While most people are concentrating on automated and generated energy, we can find that alternative through the efforts of body motion. Sounds like it means a lot of work? Well technically it does. But considering we are moving like crazy to find them, then it would be best to put efforts in place on our very own efforts.
