The District at Tempe Marketplace is kicking it up for the Holiday Season!
It has been approximately two months since Tempe Market Place officially opened. The open-air shopping and entertainment destination sits on piece of real estate which once encompassed five landfills and had 52 different landowners. After 4 years of development, Tempe Marketplace officially opened September 28th and is currently gearing up for the holiday season. Approximately 120 stores and a gazillion restaurants make this a one stop destination to do all or most of ones holiday-shopping.
Personally, I am not a big fan of strip malls and the cookie-cutter franchise approach that include big-box stores, however, it sure beats having a nasty looking landfill to look at. In retrospect, it must have been a daunting task to redevelop 1.3 million square feet of hazardous waste land; and building a mega mall probably was the only way to generate investment and tax dollars to make it happen.

It’s been a while since I posted some entries here. Well, we just came home from the hospital today. Gosh, I’m so glad we’re finally here. It’s so boring there. It’s always good to be home! Home sweet home :)By the way, I’ll post some photos and stories later on. So see you around!

Iran has enough centrifuges to build a nuclear weapon. "We have now reached 3,000 machines," Ahmadinejad told thousands of Iranians gathered in Birjand, in a show of rebelliousness to international concerns. Maybe now we should consider them a nuclear threat. I say this because Pakistan had fewer centrifuges when it became a nuclear power.
Sure, in the past Ahmadinejad has claimed that they had succeeded in installing the 3,000 centrifuges at its uranium enrichment facility, but Wednesday's declaration was his first official statement that the plant is now working all of those centrifuges.
Even though Ahmadinejad was not very clear or detailed about his claim, you could tell he clearly meant the 3,000 were fully operational. U.S. experts say 3,000 centrifuges are enough to produce a nuclear weapon, perhaps as soon as within a year. Once again, remember that Pakistan had less than what Iran currently has when they made their nuclear weapons.

I bet you thought I got lost at that Wool Festival. It was great. The rest of Thanksgiving weekend was good too. We got a ton of packing and organizing done on Sunday. Then on Monday, J went to the lab while the kids and I ran off to Santa Fe.
We spent the day with another mom and her kids, shopping in the downtown Plaza. I so wanted a New Mexican made bracelet and the Plaza is the place to find such a treasure. I found the perfect piece for me, as well as some cute presents for others.
For the first time since starting blogging three years ago, I find myself struggling to blog. I am struggling with creativity and with time. Sean Kingston’s ‘Beautiful Girls’ has been banned from Dublin’s FM104’s playlist.
FM104 said that it banned the song from its playlist because it felt it was no longer appropriate to air it with suicide at an all time high.
The song, which deals with unrequited love, has spent the last month at the top of the Irish and British single charts. There have been growing calls internationally for it to be pulled from television and radio playlists.
Kingston, a 17-year-old reggae-pop star, sings:
“You’re way too beautiful girl, that’s why it’ll never work, you’ll have me suicidal, suicidal, when you say it’s over.”
The song shouldn’t be banned from any playlist ….. this is political correctness gone totally mad. Suicide is a serious issue and many people have been affected by its consequences. Banning this song, however, will still not help or protect those who
