This painting is another painting that will be included at the Elliott Fouts Gallery. The exhibition date has been scheduled for mid November of this year. I have a ton of work ahead me. I intend to paint some really large paintings for the show. I will be exhibiting with a Gallery artist Tim White. When I found this cereal box I knew that I had to paint it. You don't find cereal boxes like this anymore. So unique! I can't tell you how fun and strange it was to paint to this painting. That clown is to die for! To the banana mixture in the saucepan, add remaining 2/3 cup vinegar, 3 cups water, brown sugar, salt, and ground chipotle chile pepper. Stir to combine.
K is for Ketchup .......It was the July 4th, Independence Day, celebration, and we had arrived early to stake out a good spot for the fireworks that would begin at dusk.The smells of cotton candy, steak subs, and french fries filled the air.Our bag of snacks contained celery, carrots, and popcorn, but the boys were giving it disgusting glances as they mumbled something about taking a walk around the park.Next thing I know, they come back with wide smiles and trays of french fries with ketchup on the side.After giving in to a couple, I snagged a tray before they were all gone and snapped a photo.It was the only good image of the night - the fireworks ones came out really bad. This large painting (16" x 20") is the second of four commissioned pieces that I did for a very nice client who will be opening a Diner in a few month. Once the paintings have all been completed I hope to post some pictures from the Diner. The Diner will be located in Bryant, Arkansas (which is located outside of Little Rock). Wie das geht?
Als erstes brauchen wir folgende Zutaten:
1.5 KG frische Tomaten
2 Zwiebeln
1/4 Liter Apfelessig
1 TL Pfeffer
2 TL Senf
1/2 EL Salz
Süßstoff (menge für 80 Gramm Zucker, siehe Herstellerhinweise)
1 EL Basilikum
Die Zubereitung:
Die gehackten Zwiebeln in etwas ÖL ausdünsten und die in Stücke geschnittenen Tomaten beigeben, nach etwa 5 Minuten die restlichen Zutaten einrühren und auf kleiner Flamme zu einem Brei kochen (dauert ca. 45 Minuten). Nach dem Abkühlen habt ihr dann euren eigenen Ketchup (ohne Konservierung nur 1 Woche haltbar).
Zum Konservieren noch einmal erhitzen und in vorgewärmte Gläser bis zum Rand füllen. Verschrauben, auf den Kopf stellen und so erkalten lassen.

1 tablespoon butter
2 tablespoons chopped fresh garlic
1 cup red onion — chopped
1 mango — peeled, seeded and
— diced
3 cups rice wine vinegar
1 bottle ketchup
1 box brown sugar
3 tablespoons chipotle puree
2 tablespoons ground ginger
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 1/2 tablespoons ground cloves
Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
In a sauce pan melt butter over medium heat, add garlic and onions and sweat
until translucent. Add the rest of the ingredients and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
Puree and store in refrigerator. May be made 1 week in advance and stored in
the refrigerator.
Makes 1 quart.

This weekend I was happily painting my little still life (well this one is large compared to many other paintings -16" 20") when I decided to walk out on my deck for a break. Here is a simple recipe taken from “The Barbecue! Bible” by Steven Raichlen that kids will love.
Ingredients
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
4 tablespoons ( 1/2 stick) unsalted butter, at room temperature
4 medium potatoes (each about 6 ounces) cut into 1/4-inch slices
1 small onion, thinly sliced
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Directions
1. Mix the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce and lemon juice.
2. Cut 4 sheets of heavy-duty aluminum foil, each 14 by 8 inches.
3. Smear a tablespoon of the butter in the center of the bottom half of the rectangle (the half closest to you).
4. Arrange one-quarter of the potatoes and one-quarter of the onions in a mound on top of the butter.
5. Spoon 1 tablespoon of the ketchup mixture over the potatoes.
6. Season with salt and pepper.
7. Fold the top half of the foil over the potatoes and bring the top and bottom edges together.

This caught my attention becuase I saw "Super Size Me" on television not long ago. I have not been able to go back to McDonald's since. Of course it is not to difficult since we don't have one here in Rosthern and I have not been to the city in a couple of weeks.
