As you all know, Pete Kendall was traded in August to the Redskins for a conditional draft pick. The agreement was a fifth round pick in the 2008 draft, or potentially a fourth round pick in the 2009 draft.
It is looking like the pick will end up being a fourth round pick in the 2009 draft since Pete Kendall is on pace to play over 80% of the snaps on offense, barring injury.
I really think that Kendall is finally losing it after today’s episode, she is pushing the revenge plot to a new high. One could argue that she is entitled to lose her sanity due to what Greenlee has done to her and her family and I slightly agree. But I believe anyone who lives for hatred or revenge is really losing part of themselves and I don’t want that to happen to Kendall. I am quite afraid that this revenge plot could end her up in jail and will blow up in her face like her other schemes. All I know is that Kendall should do her best to protect her family but revenge is not the answer, because it only brings on more hurt.

Rich Cimini of the New York Daily News was a guest on the Mike and the Mad Dog show today. Cimini discussed the Kendall situation and believes that the deal is a 5th round pick in the 2008 draft that can escalate to a 4th round pick in the 2009 draft. He noted that at the very least, it is a 5th round pick in the 2009 draft.
Rich Cimini of the New York Daily News is reporting that the New York Jets have agreed to trade Pete Kendall to an undisclosed team.
The Jets are trading the disgruntled left guard to an undisclosed team, NFL sources told the Daily News last night. An announcement is expected this morning, assuming Kendall passes his physical with the new team.

Dave Hutchinson of the Star-Ledger has an article up that states that the Jets do not plan to release disgruntled left guard Pete Kendall. The team plans to keep him on at his current $1.7 million salary. Kendall has demanded a release of his contract or trade from the team and that strategy failed as the Jets began to utilize Kendall more and take advantage of his versatility by having him practice at center as well as left guard.
The Jets don’t have any veteran depth for the guard positions with the third-string guard being undrafted rookie free agent signing Dominick Moran. Unless the Jets pickup a guard after cuts are made, it looks as if Kendall is here to stay.
According to a Jets officials, the team is pleased with Adrien Clarke’s performance so far this offseason while replacing Kendall as the starter.

LG Pete Kendall is not a happy camper at Eric Mangini’s training camp. Despite demanding to be traded or released months ago, Kendall was in attendance for the first day of Jets training camp. Kendall ran with the second team and spent a considerable amount of time by himself watching the offensive starters go through drills.
$Money$ is the reason Pete Kendall is so upset but is also the reason he decided to attend camp. First of all, Kendal wants a $1.0 million pay increase from his current salary of $1.7 million. Kendall said that they are not even in negotiations and he demanded to be traded again. He told the Associated Press, “I don’t understand why I’m still here. I’ve clearly expressed that I don’t want to be here. I’m running with the second team. It’s seemingly devolved into a personal thing. I show up and I’m assigned to the rookie dorm. I don’t get that.”

It appears that RB Cedric Houston is done with the NFL. His absence was originally believe to be a short term thing, but according to a Star-Ledger source, “Football isn’t a priority in (Houston’s) life right now. He wants to take a couple of steps back and decide what he wants to do with his life.”
It was noted in J.P. Pelzman’s blog that Eric Mangini said Houston has left football because “he wants to move on with the rest of his life.” Mangini also indicated the team will be looking at bringing in some RBs to try out.
Mangini also said that OL Pete Kendall being placed in the rookie and first-year dorms was a “mix-up,” but Kendall is upset regardless.

Things are getting interesting on Long Island already, and the Jets don’t even start training camp until tomorrow. According to Karen Crouse of the New York Times, Jets offensive guard Pete Kendall is hinting that he may hold out until a contract that satisfies him is hammered out. When reached by telephone, Kendall initially declined to comment, but later relented and said, “I don’t know what I’m going to do.” He also added: “I’m not trying to issue any threats or ultimatums. I know it’s the 11th hour.”
The timeline in the Kendall saga is interesting, to say the least. Kendall, who turns 34 this month, was due to make $1.7 milion this season. This after averaging $3.4 million in the previous three seasons. What Kendall, and the bickering doesn is looking for is a restructuring of his current four-year contract so he can make $2.7 million this season. With all that is surrounding the Jets and Pete Kendall is it possible that he can fairly represent the players and their best interest at this time? He would most likely say he is still going to be fair to the players and the organization. If you were in his situation and could stick it to the team that will not give you a new deal and will probably cut you before the start of the season you would be very tempted to.

Bitter contract disputes are nothing new in the National Football League, and right now the New York Jets are dealing with a major one with offensive linemen Pete Kendall. The offensive co-captain signed a four-year deal last season, but has asked the Jets to trade him as he has become a distraction with his teammates as well as with the media. “My situation has become a cirucs,” Kendall said at camp on Thursday. “I’m very unhappy.”
Kendall is asking for a $1 million dollar raise on his $1.7 million salary. He and his agent, Neil Schwartz, feel that he is being underpaid, which is why he and Schwartz went to Jets management asking for another raise. “I think my play and my performance and my contributions warranted reconsideration,” Kendall said.
