A large explosion apparently caused by a suicide bomber occurred near the US embassy in the Afghan capital Kabul Thursday, causing some casualties, witnesses said. The blast was at the Massoud Circle about 40 metres (yards) from the heavily secured entrance of the US embassy. The body of what appeared to be a suicide bomber was at the scene, the reporter said.
