Here's the clip.First it's Daft Punk with Kanye and now Klaxons with Rihanna?! WHY?!?! The music I like with music that I think sucks?! Am I the only one who thinks this is totally crazy? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills! BBQCHICKENROBOT! What did you ever do?! Nothing! Nothing!!!!Um, don't get me wrong friends. I don't hate Kanye, he has some great songs, and he looks cool doin' it up but I just think it's lame squad that when you're big you can just pick out a duo like Daft Punk to do whatever you want with them. And sure there's mutual artist comradery and respect. But just watching that Grammy's performance with Daft in the pyramid brought no justice to the amazingness of Daft Punk alone. This is coming from someone who saw Alive in the front row! When I want to see Daft, I want to s
In an interview with Time Off magazine, Klaxons guitarist Simon Taylor-Davis suggests that a follow-up to their critically praised debut 'Myths Of The Near Future' won't be as hard as people might think. "Listening back to it, I think it's very excit
Father's Day this year brings the new Klaxons album ("Myths of the Near Future"), a box of chocs and a mouse mat - I was well chuffed.
The Klaxons album is great - I'm not so clear on the "New Rave" tag (it doesn't sound like the early Rave music I'm familiar with, but that's no great shakes, there was a lot of variation - the covers of Rave songs are an obvious starting point and the connections to clubbing and DJing are fair enough) - the music is "sick" (to quote Joey, 7) and I think the literary references are ace too.
Name checking the works of at least two of my favourite writers (Thomas Pynchon and Willian S. Burroughs II) always helps, with a name derived from a quotation in the "Futurist Manifesto" all works for me - it's not exactly subtle, but at least it's accessible.
They're due to play the Carling Academy (the old "Hummingbird" club) in Birmingham on Tuesday the Fourth of December, 2007 (you can find more tour dates over here)

Apparently, the Klaxons belong to the New Rave genre and while personally, I really don’t care about genres because labeling music (or anything else for that matter) is pretty silly, “music fusing elements of electronic, disco music and punk” sounds just about right. This debut album was released in late January but I only got around to listening to it a couple of weeks ago and along with Patrick Wolf’s The Magic Position, it totally made my week with all these fun sounds and attitude. While it doesn’t really offer anything original, it still manages to sound fresh and new. This album simply makes me smile and I think we all need that kind of albums in our lives. I picked the two grooviest songs in the album in my opinion, hope you enjoy them.

This is the new single from new rave indie rockers The Klaxons, which came out on Monday (9th April). It’s a re-release of ‘Gravity’s Rainbow’, a song which first came out in March of 2006, but was limited to only 500 copies on 7″ vinyl. Now, with the Klaxons much more well known and at the forefront of the indie revoultion, it’s available again, with remixes from Soulwax and Electrickery and a live version of the song.
The song is from the album ‘Myths Of The Near Future’, a collection of electro pop songs fused with indie guitar riffs that never get boring, are infinitely listenable and exciting. The song is named after Thomas Pynchon’s novel of the same name, and it takes you on a journey exploring some of the themes of the book. I love the potency of the bassline, and the fact it maintains throughout the song, giving it a hard rock kind of feel.
The video is more of the same from the band, with them dressed in sharp suits an
And on today's show we have...Myths Of The Near FutureKlaxonsI'll be honest. I like NME. And they like everything. I haven't read a single review that was under 7 of 10. And ever since they gave Klaxons 9, I'd been waiting to get my hands on this baby. Oh man is their website trippy.Heralded as the new wave of new rave, the weight of expectation on MOTNF was high. And fortunately, I'm a sucker for opening tracks. So Two Receivers had me at hello, though admittedly I thought it was the opening to Sick Sad Little World (Incubus). And though it's not really a 9 of 10 track, it's got enough spunk in it to ensure a good start to the album. From then on, it's a roller coaster ride through, well, most places in South England (okay so they're from London), some places in Morocco and wherever else there's a party with alcohol punch and fruit. Golden Skans, with it's floaty ooo's and aaa's is psychedelic pop at its best with its druids and whatnots. Somewhere in between Franz Ferdina
This is the new video and single by new and upcoming British band ‘The Klaxons’. Called ‘Golden Skans’, it’s out now, having been released yesterday Monday 22nd January. The band from London are soon going to be very busy, with 1st album ‘Myths Of The Near Future’ out on the 29th January. From February, they will be headining the NME indie rave tour which completely sold out in a matter of days.
Their music style has been coined ‘New Rave’, part of a burgeoning scene growing in the UK with a mixture of dance and indie beats. HMV described their music as “acid-rave sci-fi punk-funk”, which apart from being a mouthful, describes it fantastically. This band and the scene they are riding the wave of, are destined for big things so see what you think and keep an eye out for even greater releases in the future.
