Sure, you can tell that the title sounds like it was written expressly for my Monday wake-up blog. Maybe it was, but I doubt it. Fun song, tho, and I woulda chose it even if they called it something else. Like “Wake me up with a fun song with a beat this week!” Okay, that’s a bit if a stretch, I know. Fast beat that pulls me up to my feet, even though it’s kinda speaking a little bit agai

It seems that Ricky Wilson is living on another planet; he recently said that Kaiser Chiefs are better than Oasis and are the most popular band in Britain. This is one remark that Wilson will regret one because Oasis has a huge fan following even though they have not produced any new materiel for a [...]

O novo nome para a banda foi inspirado no time sul-africano Kaizer Chiefs Football Club, o antigo time do então capitão do Leeds Lucas Radebe.

The Kaiser Chiefs made a triumphant return earlier this year with a Number One hit single and album. After ‘Ruby’ comes their 2nd single from ‘Yours Truly, Angry Mob’ called ‘Everything Is Average Nowadays’…
I actually prefer this to Ruby, feeling it has a stronger tune, and also making a nice satirical point about society in 2007. There are a variety of subjects and themes the song uncovers as it goes, with the main focus being on how life is just so average these days, nothing special happens. Whether that refers to the band themselves (recording, touring, interviews etc) or us all as a whole. Everyone is following the craze really rings bells with me, as it seems you’re no-one if you don’t fit into some sort of category these days. Whether it be emo, goth, or indie, youngsters feel the need to label themselves, rather than be individual and comfortable in that individuality.
The video fits the song perfectly, mocking the way

It's no secret that the Leeds-based Kaiser Chiefs love the Jam. The band's 2005 excellent but uneven debut Employment was an infectious salute to all things mod and Brit-pop, boasting three solid singles ("I Predict a Riot," "Oh My God" and "Everyday I Love You Less and Less") that held great promise for future endeavors. On Yours Truly
Kaiser Chiefs hit the US with a bang tonight (April 6) as they played the first night of their north American tour.Taking to the stage at Philadelphia's Electric Factory, frontman Ricky Wilson introduced his band as "the world famous Kaiser Chiefs!" as the band began their NME Presents The Kaiser Chiefs dates in front of a delighted, all-ages crowd.Following performances by suppprt groups Annuals and The Walkmen, the Leeds exports launched their set the 2000 capacity venue with 'Saturday Night', before playing a mix of material from both their albums, 'Employment' and their latest release 'Yours Truly, Angry Mob'.With the crowd's inital head-bobbing quickly developing into mini-mosh pits, the likes of 'Na Na Na Na Naa' and 'Every Day I Love You Less And Less' sent the audience wild.Meanwhile Wilson ensured the band themselves were not left out of the excitement, as the singer ventured deep into the crowd, even managing an impressive stage dive during a show-stopping renditi
The Kaiser Chiefs have made a bold decision not to appear at the upcoming Diana: Princess of Wales memorial concert. Not just that, but they have questioned the motives of artists who have jumped, without the slightest pang of hesitation, at the opportunity. "A lot of them are [just] doing it to sell more records," said singer Ricky Wilson. Oh no he didnt oh yes he did.

And on today's show we have...Yours Truly, Angry MobKaiser ChiefsI can't get the words Ruby, Ruby, Ruby and Rubay out of my head. Though somehow, I'm not altogether convinced that I want to.The Chiefs are back in their sophomore attempt. Of course the weight of expectation wouldn't be too high? I mean, it's not like Employment had like eight singles or anything. And it's not like I went through the last five months humming "Na Na Na Na Naa". Okay, I did. So basically, KC has a lot to live up to.YT,AM is not as catchy as Employment. Maybe it's the Kaiser fatigue, maybe it's too much Maximo Park. Maybe the songs just aren't that catchy. Which is not to say that have too. "We are the angry mob, we read the papers everyday" is every bit as stadium as "I predict a riot"; but somewhere along the line Ricky Wilson forgot to reinvent his band. It's something that's going to catch a lot of bands out this year if they're not careful (Arctic Monkeys, Wolfmother, er... Maximo Park).Whe

Yours Truly, Angry Mob is the second album by English rock band Kaiser Chiefs. Once again produced by Stephen Street, producer of the band's debut album Employment, Yours Truly, Angry Mob is lyrically darker and more socially aware than its precedessor, with tracks dealing with street crime, violence, fame, and the inaccuracy of tabloid articles.Kaiser Chiefs were formed by school friends Nick Hodgson, Simon Rix and Nick Baines. They were later joined by Andrew White and art school graduate and Ricky Wilson, who they spotted singing with a Rolling Stones tribute band. Originally they were named Parva. After reinventing themselves as the Kaiser Chiefs in 2002, the band made a strong impact on the British music scene, culminating in winning three Brit Awards for 'Best Group', 'Best British Rock Act' and 'Best Live Act' in 2006. Their debut single, Oh My God was released in 2004. However, they are better known for their follow-up single I Predict a Riot. [Read full story of Kaiser
