Julian was once the biggest gold mining camp in California. Today julian is home to world famous apple pies. In season you can also pick apples at the local orchards. The town has become so popular with tourist during apple picking time that the orchards are usually picked clean in just a few days. You can still pick up a pie but chances are the apples were grown somewhere else. There is a self guided historic tour and you can pick up the map at Town Hall. Lots of little shops with unique gifts and items and of course several resturants selling apple pies. Near-by Lake Cuyamaca offers fishing and hiking. I have to admit that since I found that show while zapping I watch it as often as I can (now the play the repeated show at 7:30 AM, which is my breakfast time) because it’s always hilarious. But today it has been different, on Fridays I only have to work during mornings so I can see it live, and just after the show ended I went to Meneame and it was on the main page, so imagine how it was. It’s a bit long, but it’s worth watching. Perhaps it doesn’t mean anything, but it shows how sad is that TV has reached that point. Perhaps if we talk about it things change. Note for non Spanish speakers: The show talked about a fake website as if it was real.
