Scarnag's Lair!
The Dragon's Lair is the fourth book of Elizabeth Haydon's new series for young adults, The Lost Journals of Ven Polypheme. The story opens up with Ven helping Char gather the food that is being dropped-off at The Crossroads Inn when a farmer helps him unload. The farmer turns out to be K

As scientists, we have to keep up with new research coming out and follow the journals. We all have our preferred way of doing so though. Sporadic searches on Pubmed are one way, or weekly email updates on specific search terms (also offered by Pubmed) are another. Alternatively, there’s Hubmed for RSS of Pubmed updates, and many more options besides.
Using search terms narrows your attention however, so I prefer simply browsing around my favorite journals online. I get a broader sampling of current research that way - which may not be of concern for the average scientist, but for a blogger, it’s often more productive for finding topics to blog on in the peer-review literature.

One of our readers sent us the tip on these darling jeweled mini keychain journals. Little girlie-girls will love them as charms, even if they don't have keys. The moment we saw them we thought they would make perfect little photo-sticker albums, too, if not adorable stocking stuffers.
If you get your girls set up with a digital camera and some sticker paper that you can buy at any office supply store, they can print out little photos to fit on the 2" journal pages and stick away. Let them make a fashion journal of their dress-up styles, a collection of glamour shots of their pet, a round-up of places they'd like to go or even a wish list of things they love... You name it. They could make a library of charms and share them with friends.

Not sure about these? In my previous post on " Accounting Documents & Accounting Cycles ", I have discussed the commonly used accounting documents (function is record occurrence of transactions) and also examples of accounting cycles (Sales, Purchases, Cash Receipts Payments). In order to record the occurrence of transactions in a systematic manner, some form of record keeping must be adopted. The accounting documents such as official receipts, sales invoices, bills etc. are the "Source Documents" in which these documents serve as the evidence of the occurrence of transactions and are based upon to record the transactions as the first entry point of an accounting recording system – "Books of Original Entry". Examples of books of original entry are the following: - Sales Journal or Sales

Street Sketchbook: Inside the Journals of International Street and Graffiti Artists
I can honestly tell you I was never a fan of graffiti, like any art-form there is good art and there is bad art. Now graffiti falls into that category also. I would not be a happy camper to be the recipient of scribbled lettering on my building. However, walking and driving upon my fair city I came across some interesting pieces of art on buildings that were given free reign by the owner of edifice. Then as I travel through the hi-way, there are many fly by night spray painters who scrawl etchings of distorted lettering that make no sense. As you comb through the cities in most North American cosmopolitans you will find some interesting pieces of art as collected by the latest book from Chronicle Books about the art and the culprits, I mean artists. You will find something of interest for all, just make sure your local city counsellors or authorities don’t get a copy, maybe they’ll bo

I subscribe to four Art Journals with American publishers. Almost without exception I'm extremely impressed by the quality and content of all the Journals. However, I've also got a generally poor impression of the subscription and delivery services they employ.

Antioch Publishing Recalls Bookmarks and Journals Due to Violation of Lead Paint Standard
(Thu, 04 Oct 2007 17:00:00 GMT) Paint on the spiral metal bindings of the journals, clip of the bookmarks and the clear coating on the marquis bookmarks and bracelets contain excessive levels of lead, which violates the federal lead paint ban.
I apologize in advance if this sounds like a shameless and self-serving plug, but I need to share with you this little bit of information which obviously is yet another reason I should be smiling more often.
Even if Rising Sun has been in existence since March 29, 2007, I submitted my blog to Rice Bowl Journals (RBJ), an Asian online journal community, only last September 6.
As of today, RBJ ranks Rising Sun the second most popular blog in Asia in terms of clicks. I think there is reason for me to celebrate, considering that it has only been less than a month since my blog was listed there.
Please find below the screenshot of the webpage upon clicking “Top 300” in RBJ’s navigation bar.
I should be happy, right? Thank you for reading.

Journals and Academic Writing
In your college studies, a journal can be far more than a personal diary. Keeping an academic journal provides you with a way to respond to lectures and assigned readings. You can use a journal to reflect on material you have read, comment on issues raised in course lectures and discussions, and record questions. Make a habit of keeping a journal and writing in it for about ten minutes every day. This work can provide you with ideas for papers and research projects. A journal can also be useful as you review for final examinations or essay tests, reminding you of areas of special interest or subjects you didn't quite understand and need to review. (more…)

I met Michael Kozak through 1001 Journals. I signed up for his Journal #1704. When it came to receiving it I noticed that the back had stamps advertising "2nd Chance Rebound Journals". I inquired about it and thought it was a nice idea, so I decided to buy one. I was very pleased with the quality of his Journal #1704 and wanted one similar. When I received the journal I requested, I was throughly pleased with it.
Here is Journal #1704 when I had it in my possession.
Here is my new journal I got a few days ago.
Michael can customize your journal to your liking. I asked that it have plain pages for sketching and a pink and purple theme. I was pleasantly surprised by the Christian cross pattern on the front and back of my journal.
What I love about the journals Michael makes is the unique aspect they have. Each journal is as different as you and I. They are made with high quality materials,...
These great journals are made out of old hardcover books. Rebounds Books takes those old, neglected books, rebinds them and fills them with 100% recycled denim paper. This makes each journal completely unique and bound (oh puns!) to provide any journal writer tons of inspiration!
The journals vary in size and in price, but usually run around AUS$25-30. You can order yours online at Rebound Books.

The photo in this entry is Her Royal Highness. Photographed and edited by me, Lynda Walldez.I signed up to be a part of 1001 Journals a few months ago. I got in line to receive and send a traveling journal just to see what that was like. It was finally my turn to get it a few days ago, so I was pretty excited. I made my contribution and sent it out to the next person. Then I went online with the inspiration to begin my own traveling journals.Since I have a few blank journals laying around, I thought I could put them to better use by letting them travel the country collecting snippets of people who make entries in them. I just sent out two journals that I started with the first traveling journal I received. The traveling journal I contributed to was Journal 1704, an art journal which is meant to be contributed to by a handful of people. You can view my entry here. The traveling journals I began are Journal 1952 and 1955. Journal 1952 is a journal in which anything of writing or art can

Veterans who served during the 46 years of the last "Long War" fought by the United States want the government to say "thank you." For eight years, veterans of the Cold War have been lobbying for a medal commemorating their military service, over staunch objections from Pentagon officials. They hope they got one step closer Thursday, when the House passed the FY08 defense authorization bill containing language sponsored by Rep. Robert Andrews, D-N.J., that would require the Pentagon to issue the medal. It may not sound like much of a gesture, but that "thank you," according to the Defense Department, could cost as much as $250 million -- at a time when the military services say they need billions of dollars to cover urgent needs in their latest extended war, the one on terrorism. Journal writing used to be a private, personal experience done late at night, scribbling hardly legible thoughts and daily occurrences down on paper amidst the haze of a barely lit room. When read over on a later date one could find connections and coincidences that sometimes brought deeper insights into the meaning of life. Also, old ideas could be rekindled that otherwise may have been forgotten forever. In the 21st century a strange new type of journal writing is becoming prevalent in contemporary society. Called Blogs, these are journals used by the masses. Why are people sharing their thoughts instead of keeping them private like the days of old? These journals are found on the World Wide Web and can be used for a number of purposes. The Web is a public sphere and human souls are realizing that sharing their ideas and beliefs can have that same epiphany type of effect on others as the old type of journal had on the personal writer. People are also feeling that they have an identity
